"Y-y-yes! I'm v-v-v-very much looking forward to working with you too friend!" Camille led him over to one of the tables, picking up a newspaper and pawing it over to Sciurus. "Th-th-there you go. C-c-clemency is also a revolutionary measure." he said proudly, putting his paws on his hips, eagerly awaiting what Sciurus had to say.

Sciurus riffled through it, scanning the newspaper's contents. A particular article soon caught his eye, one that mentioned the measures that had been taken to help the revolution, and suggested reasons why more needed to be enacted. The squirrel saw the name of the creature the article was credited to: Camille Desmarche. His eyebrows rose in astonishment.
"This is all your work, Camille? You've done an excellent job. This is an amazingly confident article right here. The words practically leap off the page! You may seem nervous and unsure of yourself when speaking, but you work wonders once you are behind a printing press. I am amazed, truly I am."

"W-w....well...thank you...." Camille blushed deeply now under his red cheek fur, and looked down the ground, beginning to play with his tail with his forepaws, as if grooming it, but he wasn't. "I....I....I know. W-w-w-writing is something I l-l-l-love but you're right. I don't....don't make the b-b-b-best public s-s-s-s-speaker." Camille seemed to be self-conscious of that fact, but Otto was up behind them now.
"Hey there you two, we're gonna have our club announcements in a few minutes and well...Sciurus, I'd like to see what you're made of. Would you have any objections to making a public speech of introduction for yourself to the members of the club mate? I'd very much like to hear you speak." the otter said, giving him a grin and a wink.
Camille nodded at this, smiling too. "Y-y-yeah! I'd like to h-h-h-hear you speak as well!"

"Heheh, well, I'm up for a challenge. Sure, why not?," Sciurus replied, starting to head back towards the main group, Camille and Otto trailing in his wake.
The squirrel's swished to and fro. His casual response to Otto's request had made him sound a lot more confident than he actually felt.
Things had changed considerably for Sciurus Whirlpaw over the last few hours. He had proved himself more than capable of adjusting to life as a member of the Cordeliers Club up to now, and hoped things would continue in a similar fashion.

Eglantine was mounting a dais, on which rested a sort of pulpit, though it was not for religious ceremonies. Perhaps at one time it might have been, though those days were long past. Banging a block of wood upon the pulpit, the marten cleared his throat and called attention to himself. He cut a rather serious, regale figure, standing up there in his rather striking threads and dominant bearing.
"Ahem! Alright! It's time for our weekly announcements! So far, first and foremost should be the King. He's actually decided to pass one of the Assembly's decrees, for once." a plethora of voices broke the silence, many murmurs passing in between the crowd of gathered beasts below. It was mostly a noise of discontent, but Eglantine silenced it with a wave of his paws. "Yes.....at long last he finally appears to be showing some reasonable bearings...HOWEVER! He has so far proved quite uncooperative with the rest of the Assembly's laws, going against popular will even after polling the populace of Rosferia for their opinions on things."
HIs eyes scanned the room, passing from beast to beast, a sign of urgency in his eyes. "Yes.....I am still pushing this. I feel we still need to move. There should be no question about this...no reservations. The King is still a hindrance to his country, and if only we could remove him....we would have a true democracy....a true representative government. We've all disbarred ourselves from election to the Assembly, it's true....but that doesn't mean we can't recruit others to go in our place. The election will be held towards the end of the year, and if we can compel the King to step down before then, we'll be in good standing I think. I can not stress this enough....the King stands in our way and impedes our progress. It is a known fact that he has personally asked the following nations for support in restoring him to the throne. The Kingdom of Gradvar, the Empire of Delorn, the Ferlusan Kingdom, the Kingdom of Slattland, and the Empire of Kostritz have all been contacted by the King. This is NOT good fellow members. Gradvar, Ferlusan, and Kostritz are all our neighbors. And there are even rumors that Gradvar and Kostritz have signed a military alliance, and if that is the case then....that in effect overturns our alliance we have held with Kostritz for over 40 years. Gradvar and Kostritz are traditional enemies...they should NOT be allying here! These are serious times we live in I'm afraid.....and something must be done."
He paused here, looking over the assembled group that lay before him again. "I say we say to hell with the King! He'll only continue to conspire behind his citizens' backs to restore himself, and this can not stand! If we HAVE to fight a war....I'd rather fight it as a democracy and not in defense of some King who refuses to allow his citizens the full rights to which they are entitled!" the room just about erupted in applause and cheering now, "Here heres" and other such laudations echoing throughout the chamber.
Eglantine waited for it to die down before he continued. "However......at our present state, we still need to organize, to plan for the future. Based on what happens in the next few months, we may be forced to move in order to create this true democracy that we all desire. However....before I continue...I'd like to hand the floor off to a new recruit, a young mammal that has been recruited by our respected Otto Kurtz in to our ranks. He is of course, the red squirrel Sciurus Whirlpaw, and I'd like to give him a chance to address you all and introduce himself, as well as share his thoughts on the Revolution so far. So therefore, I break to turn this floor over to brother Whirlpaw.....Brother Whirlpaw....if you would please step forward..."
The marten gestured at him, stepping aside from the pulpit as many eyes scanned the room, coming to rest on the squirrel as they finally realized which one was new amongst them.

Sciurus heard his name spoken, quickly realising that he had been asked to step forward. He approached the pulpit slowly. Once he had stepped onto it, the squirrel turned to face the congregation of members. For a moment, he stood there transfixed, unable to do anything, and it seemed that his nervousness had gotten the better of him, but Sciurus soon snapped out of it. He began to speak.
"Hello there. I'm Sciurus Whirlpaw, the newest member of the Club. I am going to tell you what I think of the present goings-on here, but first, I think I'll let you know a little about myself. I am twenty-eight years old, and am not originally from Rosferia. I grew up in a place far "away from here, across the Ceres Ocean. I can't recall much of it; not sure what to make of that, really. I began to yearn for pastures new at a young age, and so began to travel. I journeyed across the ocean. It was a long and difficult voyage, and at times I felt I must surely perish, but of course, I survived, eventually coming ashore on the west coast of Rosferia, although further away from here, in the north. I have been travelling around the country ever since I arrived here, and have made my home in numerous towns and villages, so many, in fact, that I have lost count. I always liked to keep moving, never staying in the same place for more than a season or two, but now I feel it is time for me to settle down, and Cosnair looks ideal.
"I have made a living as a swordsmith for quite a few years now. I have a strange feeling that my services will be desired by quite a few creatures over the next while, for as you all know, the possibility of warfare lurks in the shadows. I am also a hypnotist. It's always been a hobby of mine. I've been studying it for a long time, and my work has paid off. I have decided to lend a paw with running Otto's parlour, and I'm looking forward to starting work.
"I have been a solitary creature until recently, and as such, did not know of this Revolution until I enquired about the happenings in this city just a short while ago. I would like to thank Otto, Philip, and especially Camille," here, Sciurus smiled at his friend, who was sitting nearby, "for explaining the reasons for the Revolution, and the aims of the Club. Your King is standing in the way of Rosferia becoming a true democracy, and I echo the sentiments of many of you here: the king should be forced to step down, and the voice of Rosferia's citizens should take precedence. The voice of one should not have the power to silence many. I must tell you, I am a pacifist, so will not resort to violence unless I feel it is strictly necessary, but I am sure there are many other ways in which I could help. If we work together, we can get through this and emerge free creatures, and I will do my utmost to see that this achieved. Thank you for listening."
Sciurus quickly left the pulpit, and returned to his seat.

Every member watched him in rapt silence, most moved by his speech, and all were very attentive. Coughs were kept to a minimum and he was given the utmost in courtesy from the gathered club members, all breaking in to applause as he finished and hurriedly moved back over to Otto and Camille.
Eglantine thought it was eloquent and had tact, Otto saw potential in the squirrel, and Camille, though he disagreed with Sciurus's pacifist tendencies, thought the speech was well done regardless. Camille was violent if cornered, and did advocate violence as necessary for the Revolution, but he respected the opinion of others as well, and would enjoy working with Sciurus in the future.
Camille clapped Sciurus on the back, and Otto shook his paw, nodding as Eglantine went on about what things would be expected in the future. Mostly keeping an eye on things and watching for a potential outbreak of war. Otto was congratulating Sciurus though by whispering in to his ear, and a few minutes later, Eglantine dismissed the club for the evening. Standing up to stretch, the blue furred otter flanked Sciurus with Camille. "Well...what did you think of your first Cordeliers Club meeting?" Otto asked, scratching his back and yawning.

"I really enjoyed the meeting, friends," Sciurus replied, smiling.
"It's really opened my eyes up to what's going on in this Revolution of ours. Again, thanks for your help. We all have our role to play in this, some as warriors. others as schemers and planners, but I am sure that, as said, if we work together, our plans will work and one day Rosferia will truly be free. I appreciate the congratulations on my speech. They really mean something to me, as I was quite nervous and unsure of myself to begin with, and have given me confidence in my abilities."
The squirrel shook paws with Otto and Camille, in turn.
"I look forward to working with you both. I should probably get going now, apologies, but I am exhausted. It truly has been a day to remember."
The hypnotist turned to walk out the door, but refrained from doing so just yet, waiting so that his friends could have the final word before his departure.

"A r-r-r-real p-p-p-pleasure to have m-m-m-made your acquaintance!" Camille replied enthusiastically, and gave a hearty shake and clapped him on the back again.
"Yes indeed...I'm very glad you decided to join this club. If you're leaving, I'll offer to walk you back home." Otto offered, grabbing his winter coat and hat from the hooks he'd left them on by the door in preparation for heading out in to the night. He wasn't sure if Sciurus wanted to hurry home on his own or not as the crowd began to filter out of the hall and in to the wintry night air.

"Why, thank you, Otto, that's very kind of you. I'm currently staying at an inn that's nearby. I don't have a place of my own here just yet, understandably. Need to see to that as soon as I can," Sciurus replied.
"Goodbye, Camille. I'll see you again soon," the hypnotist said as he went out into the night, waiting for Otto to finish up. His fellow squirrel had made a mark on him, that much was clear, and Sciurus looked forward to meeting his fellow revolutionary once more.
