Luxe let lose a small sigh of relief as they entered the doctors office. He was having trouble concentrating on the conversation, his leg hurt so much.He had spotted a chair on his way in, and now he made his way over to it, hopping a little on his good leg. He dropped heavily into the chair, looking back at the beasts who had helped him in. "I'm in the process of moving to Thorpe, or at least I was, till the attack..." Luxe paused, shaking his head to clear it "..I'm hoping to open a blacksmith in town here, and gentlemen, its Luxe, Jal Calone was my father." He said with a rueful grin. Black and white stars were starting to fill his vision. He shook his head feebly 'I feel as weak as a new kit' He thought ruefully. Lifting his head he continued, "'Thank you for helping me in...I" But that was all he got out as his head dropped to his his chest. He was out cold.
((Feel free to auto him to a bed Cal, and would you do the Doc?))

((You got it))
"Drat!" Ladorak hissed as the doctor, a polecat, entered the room. "Here...he's suffered a um....well he's been cut." but that's all Ladorak said, wanting to save Luxe the embarrassment of the situation, even if he WAS out cold.
"Oh my....here...let's get him to the bed over there." the polecat instructed, and Ladorak and Monty both helped to move the unconscious stoat over to rest on the bed. Taking a look at the leg, the doctor winced. "Not too bad....at least his bone wasn't hit. I should be able to suture that up." he explained in a timid sort of voice, his natural tone. Nodding, Ladorak and Monty moved over to the side to let the doctor do his work.
"Now then.....we just have to hope he won't wake up while I do this.....because if he does well.....I'll have to get the opium." Ladorak nodded at this, and stood ready to assist if he was needed. A new blacksmith eh? Well the town could certainly use one....they currently didn't have one in all honesty.
"Well then....Jal Sylver, why don't we get down to the reason you're here?" Ladorak folded his forelimbs and looked over at Monty. The doctor was in the process of cutting off Luxe's pants, something that might cause some chagrin to the stoat if he awoke, but that was standard policy for all surgical procedures, and the doctor needed an unobstructed leg. Walking over to get a glass of brandy, the polecat dumped some of it on the wound to act as an anesthetic, not even realizing that it would help to disinfect the wound as well.
"Ah yes.....that.....well you see, Jal Fugate, I figured you wouldn't get this news so easily out in the countryside, so I decided to travel here myself, as it's something that could....potentially turn into a grave situation." Monty said, fixing Ladorak with serious eyes. "You see....it turns out that recently, a few days ago in fact, the Emperor of Kostritz, Leopold, expired, moved on, he died." Ladorak raised his eyebrows at this.
"This IS news to me Jal Sylver. It's the first I've heard of it, what happened?"
"Ah he passed away of an illness. Overworked himself undoing his brother's policies and keeping his Empire together. His young son Francis is on the throne now.....and he's reputedly hostile to Rosferia. This...could....possibly....lead....to war." Monty enunciated those last few words, and spoke in a hushed tone.
"Oh blast it.....you don't say? You know....I figured as much. But it wouldn't effect Galdea would it? " Ladorak said gruffly as the doctor began to stitch Luxe's injury up.
"Well...I suppose it depends on what Rosferia does. You know King Poynt....his whole family......well the ruling family of Galdea for hundreds of years have always been traditional enemies of Rosferia, if only because the Royal Family believes they have a right to the throne of Rosferia....and me being Galdea well...I say go for it, even if it is only more symbolic at this point.....or Poynt rather, pardon the pun. As said...it will probably depend on how Rosferia handles it. Provided they aren't stupid.....then perhaps it will only remain confined to Kostritz and Rosferia. We don't really have an alliance with Kostritz anymore after all." Monty speculated.
"Right.....but if we do go to war....that could give me a chance to get back to sea!" Ladorak exclaimed in a whisper, his eyes lighting up.
"Ah I figured that's what you'd be thinking of first and foremost......who can say what Francis will do?" Monty stopped, wandering over to the bed where the doctor was about halfway done with the stitches. Looking down pensively at the sleeping stoat, Monty frowned. "And how is he fairing doctor?"
"Oh....he's doing fine....provided he doesn't wake up...." the doctor grimaced, needing absolute concentration for this. Monty was looking at Luxe's face, and silently wondered just how out of it this visitor really was.
((You can have him wake up if you want, or you can have him keep sleeping, in which case I could finish the procedure and the doctor would revive him))

The stoat appeared to be quite unconscious, and so the doctor continued his work. Once he had finished, he bit the last of the suture off and swabbed some alcohol over it. Taking the slashed pair of pants, the polecat draped them over a chair and then covered Luxe with a blanket. Having no pant could be a big thing for a beast.
Sighing, the doctor wiped his hands on his apron, smearing the white cloth with Luxe's blood. "Alright.....now I'll just revive him and we can get him out the door." One thing the doctor had had to do was shave off the fur around the sutured area, and so Luxe would be bald in that one spot on his leg.
Retrieving some smelling salts, surgeon opened the bottle and held it under Luxe's nose. A powerful ammonia vapor was released that would irritate the membranes in the stoat's nose and cause him to awaken. With practiced ease, the polecat waved the bottle under Luxe's nose, waiting for a reaction. Monty and Ladorak stood by, waiting for the journeymammal to come round.

Luxe was in a dreamy state, and was sporting a rather goofy grin, as he was chasing around something in his head, something about a name.. He had just about caught it when he was rudely awakened by a most obnoxious smell. Luxe jerked up, and jarred his leg badly. Wincing he relaxed a little and tried again. Sitting up, slowly this time to avoid jarring his leg again, he realized that what he'd been trying remember was staring him right in the face. Turning to face Jal Fugate, he asked "Jal Fugate, Jal Slyver said that your name was Ladorak Fugate, you wouldn't happen to be Captain Ladorak Fugate, would you?"Putting a slight emphasis on the word Captain, his curiosity roused. 'Because if you are, I would like to see that sword of yours..." Luxe thought.

The ermine commander was caught off guard by this, as was Monty. Neither were expecting this, Ladorak most of all. "Well....actually yes....yes I am, though I'm only a Commander, I haven't achieved the rank of Captain yet." Ladorak replied honestly and modestly.
Monty nodded to confirm this. "That he is, just made the rank too." the weasel chimed in.
"Um...I'm sorry to ask this but, you've really piqued my curiosity. How is it you know my name, and for that matter, what do you need with me?" the stoat asked, very.....perplexed by this. He had NOT been expecting this traveler to actually be looking for him, much less for anybeast to really know who he was. He wasn't really famous or anything, at least not in Galdea....but what Ladorak didn't suspect was that this fellow was interested in a certain blade that he just happened to possess....and one he did not come to own whilst serving Galdea.
That particular blade was more likely than not the Midlight Hammer, resting in it's place above Ladorak's mantle back at his home. It was the most powerful sword the stoat had ever possessed, and had been specially crafted by his orders. One of a kind, it was exceedingly rare of course, and since moving to Galdea, Ladorak had taken an oath to never use it except in time of war. And thus it sat.....resting on display above his mantle.....and was now apparently the source of curiosity for a traveling blacksmith.

Luxe's face broke into a broad grin. He had obviously confused both of his rescuers with his question. "Sir, Let me explain the question. It was stated in pure interest towards one of the blades you own, the Midlight Hammer, if I'm not mistaken." He paused, remembering something and started digging in the pockets of his nearby trousers for something. He looked up at Ladorak again still diggin in various pocekts. "In blacksmith circle, great sword smiths are often called onto tell about the swords that they have seen or made in the past. Last time i went with my Master to the Guild Headquaters* a blacksmith talked about making a one-of-a-kind blade for a Capt. Ladorak Fugate, I'm glad i didn't ask a foolish question." He finished with a rouges grin splashed on his features. "Ha,found it!" he exclaimed, pulling something out of the pocket he had been digging in. He turned his face towards the doctor "Thanks for the leg, and the wake up." Smiling slightly again "How much do I owe you?" He asked, already reaching into the bag for some money.**
((* Can be changed if you don't want there to be any guilds or the like. **What type of payment system is used in Galdea anyway??))

The doctor nodded, looking modest as he saw the bag of coins before him. "Ohhhh...not much for a suturing. A crown I say should suffice, or 5 shillings if you lack the crown." the polecat replied with a friendly smile. Not a bad price, more than a street urchin could pay of course, but not bad for a middle class working beast. "Oh yes, and do remember you'll have to come back in about a week or two to get those out, I wouldn't recommend removing them yourself." the doctor cautioned with a well meaning tone.
"Oh, Jal Fugate, by the way, how is your malaria faring?" the doctor turned to Ladorak now, who nodded.
"Ah yes...well I had an attack recently, but a good dose of quinine was able to get it under control." the stoat explained.
"Good. Make sure you check back with me though if it ever does crop up."
"Yeah....I was away when it happened, but I will next time it occurs." Ladorak promised. He turned his attention back to Luxe, surprised that anybeast had heard of his Midlight Hammer. Another thought popped into his mind as well, and it had to do with Monty, but first things first. "Huh....so you did get the name of that sword right. It is the Midlight Hammer.....and I have to say it's probably one of my most prized possessions. That swordsmith of yours who said he made it....was his name Heinz Dupette Serami? He would be an albino ferret, warm, friendly, and probably the best bladesmith in the lands. Owns Serami Blades Limited right?" Ladorak asked, grilling Luxe for information.
"I take it you want......to look at it or something?" was Ladorak's final question, unsure really of what this fellow mustelid was after.

Luxe nearly laughed at how he was grilled for information, most likely to check his intentions. Before he responded he pulled out seven shillings from his purse. "Here you are Doctor, thanks again. And don't worry, I will leave the doctoring to those who know what they are doing." he said as he put the shillings in to the polecats paw.
Luxe half-rose ,thought better of it, and laid back again. Turning to face the others he asked, "If it wouldn't be to much of a bother, could one of you gents run to the cart and grab a leather bag, it should be sitting just under the bench in the cart?"
Then he turned his full attention to Jal Fugate, "Malaria, nasty bug, I had a friend who suffered from it, glad you're feeling better Sir, and to your question, yes it was Jal Serami who told of it.." With a little bit of encouragement from some friends. thought Luxe. ".. Yes he is an albino, yes he is a very friendly chap, yes he owns the Serami Blades Limited, located on the west side of Corona, Askolonia I believe, and yes I would agree that he is one of, if not the best, blade smith in the known lands." Luxe paused here, a ghost of a grin playing about the corners of his mouth. "But I trust that you won't tell my Master that I said that." He said grinning broadly, then he grew serious again, "As to your last question," said Luxe with a slight shrug, "I take an interest in the great sword makers works, and you can always improve on your current work by studying them."

The polecat thank Luxe for his generosity, and quietly shuffled back into his office. They would leave when Luxe was ready. Tipping his hat a bit, Monty offered to go and get the sack that had been left behind in the cart. "Ah don't worry about that, I'll be back with it soon." the kindly weasel said.
"Wait....did you get my letter to you of the 7th instant?" Ladorak stopped Monty from leaving, who nodded and replied to him.
"Yes.....I did. There was nothing you could do to prevent Spindrick from coming ashore I think.....it wasn't your fault....besides.....where would the fun be if my cousin died marooned on some island?" Monty said, cracking a wry grin. Ladorak wasn't sure if Montegu really meant that but....
Ladorak had been referring to Monty's not so nice anarchist cousin Spindrick, who had coerced Ladorak into rescuing him recently after he'd been shipwrecked on an island. Spindrick would be at large again in Galdea......but at least Monty would be around to hopefully thwart his plans. With that, the weasel temporarily took his leave of them to retrieve whatever it was Luxe needed.
"Well you certainly got all of that information right about Jal Serami. It seems you really have met the jack then." Ladorak mused aloud, and nodded at Luxe. "I....am a little surprised that he would mention that particular blade, as I'm sure he's had many custom orders, but perhaps he let it slip out in one of his more....lucid moments."
Ladorak folded his forelimps, and thought this over. "I guess this begs the question. Why did you pick my blade out of all of his? I mean....surely he dropped some other names too. Oh by the way.....I suppose I can take you up to my house once Jal Sylver gets back, and I'll gladly help support your weight since I'm sure your leg will still be sore. But yes....why did you single out the Midlight Hammer?" the ermine asked again, getting curiouser and curiouser about Luxe and who this fellow ermine was taking such an interest in his blade. It was....not something he saw everyday, that was for sure. He wasn't really suspicious.....merely intrigued by this whole development.
