Miri slapped her paws against her knees as she stood up as well. “I don’t see a reason to delay.” She moved around the stuff on the on floor towards the door, calling over her shoulder as she went. “All I need to do drop by my room and grab my stuff and I’ll meet you at the packet docking in…..” She stopped, her paw on the door, “Is 30 minutes ok Jal Slyver?” She asked, turning towards her new employer again.
((Yikes, this is short....))

"30 minutes? Good heavens...." he said, unable help a hearty smile from breaking out as he too rose to standing. "Jis Talian, there's no real rush.....I mean the packet generally doesn't depart the Muggidrear docks until 8 PM and well..." he paused as Ringing Roger, the great clocktower of Muggidrear, donged out the hour.
Monty counted them, waiting until it was done. "It's only 11 AM right now. However....if you really want to meet me down there so soon, then I will be happy to oblige you. We can pick up our tickets and catch the evening packet out to Rosferia. Of course...with that said I'd like to leave word both with Jis McFail and Jis Bludd that I might be gone awhile."
He picked his cane up, walking over to where she stood by the door. "So it's up to....30 minutes or 7 hours, it's all the same to me." he said, smiling again at her rather go-get 'em personality.
((You can do a time jump to the docks if you want, and whatever time you pick is fine with me Bookity...unless you wanna end the thread and start a new one for the actual case, but this one would work just as fine.))

Miri stopped short, a bit red-faced at being so far off in her timing. "Ohh, um," She cleared her throat."I guess I'll meet you there around seven then... Gives me some time to check up on some old friends that way." She said, grinning sheepishly as she ducked out his door and made her way down the steps towards the landjill's office.
**********
After she got directions to the packet boarding, she waited near the docking for Monty. From a distance, you wouldn't see anything, but up close you would see something was bothering her. The something was the fact that her cousin was "out of town", which she knew meant that either he was dead, or on the run for something, and worried her. Mark wouldn't harm a fly, scam them out of every pence they owned, but not hurt anybody. She chewed on her lip pensively wondering who she could ask to find him, now that she was going to Rosferia...

At 7 PM that night the Right Honorable Montegu Sylver had packed his belongings away in a trunk and had gotten it down to the docks via pawsom cab. Having bought tickets for both himself and Miri, the weasel was pacing around his trunk, wondering when the jill would show up.
He was dressed in a green cloak with green tophat and was wearing the same clothes that the mercenary had seen him in earlier that day, with the addition of spats on his hind paws. He didn't wear shoes as he didn't initially need them....not for an ocean crossing at least.
Looking about him as the fog started to gather, he thought he could pick out the jill a bit further down the quay. Smiling, he left his trunk momentarily to get closer to her position. "Jis Talian! There you are! I'm sorry we didn't initially see each other...." he stopped in his tracks though as he got closer. The sharp and observant detective could immediately pick out the tension on her face. "Oh....Jis Talian....is something wrong?" he asked, concern washing over his own features as he resumed walking over to her, his silver handled cane clacking on the stone quay.

Miri's lifted her head as when she heard Monty’s voice from down the pier. As she listened to his inquiry, her face cleared, but her eyes stayed a clouded blue-gray, which, after Monty got to know her better, he would tell him that she was still worried. “O, its nothing Jal Sylver,” She waved a paw at fly that buzzed by her ear. “Just a rascally relation being a bother again.” This time her paw waved in a dismissive gesture. Now , how about getting on that ship.” Miri bent, grabbed her things and headed for the gang plank, stopping after she had gone a few yards down the dock. She turned back sheepishly. “Uhh, Jal Slyver, you wouldn’t happen to have the tickets do you…?”

"A rascally relation you say...." Monty stated thoughtfully as the jill gathered up her items and began to head for the ship. The detective wondered who this relation was and why he had bothered her in such a way. But as it stood right now, she wasn't going to talk about it, and that was fine with the weasel.
He turned to some dockpaws and got them to start loading up his trunk and taking it to the proper stateroom. It was then that Miri returned to him, realizing she didn't have the tickets. "Ah that's quite alright Jis Talian, I do have them, purchased them both for us right here." he took them out of his pocket and held one out to her.
"She departs in less than an hour, so yes, you're right, we should get settled in. It will take until tomorrow morning to arrive, but after that point all we have to do is travel overland to Cosnair. Should be there in a week and a half by my calculations." he told her, hoping they wouldn't be arriving too late so that the trail wouldn't go cold.
