((It's alright. RL comes first. Post when you can. I won't hold it against you. ) The mongoose stopped playing his cello just as Swifftail finished with his greasing of the hinges on Delgar's door. Delgar needed a break, and he figured that some night air would do him good. Standing up, he carefully laid his cello back against the chair he had been sitting on. Turning, he walked into another part of his bedroom through a doorway that had no door. His bed was in here, as well as his wardrobe. The other room had been a sort of living room for the mongoose, and he had his dining table in that room as well. Walking over the wooden floorboards, the mongoose arrived at the window to his bedroom. It was closed, the night sky illuminating his white clothes and giving him almost a shimmer. Lifting the latch, he pushed the swinging doors out and stepped out onto his balcony. Ah yes...there was nothing better than enjoying the soft breeze from the sea on nights like this. Below him was a sharp drop down into the sea, and it was always exhilarating to stand out here, as if he were floating above the planet and this small stretch of it was his domain, which for all intents and purposes it practically was....

The music stopped, Swifttail backed away from the door and to the wall. The door didn't open. Putting his ear to the door, he listened. It seemed that Delgar had entered another room, probably a bedroom of sorts. The assassin heard a slight squeak and a breeze hit his footpaws. A window! His target had probably entered his balcony! Perfect, it would be easier than Swifttail had expected.
Opening the door without a sound, he entered what seemed to be a living room. The cello laid unattended on a chair facing the balcony. Looking to his left, he could see through Delgar's bedroom and to his back out onto the balcony. Drawing his dagger from his cloth sheath, Swifttail sped towards Delgar. Smothering him with his right, he struck with his left. The mongoose gave a gasp as the blade pierced his neck, then dropping lifeless into Swifttail's paws. Picking the body up with both paws, he threw it over the balcony edge and down the cliff.
Sheathing his dagger, he turned and closed the balcony doors. Checking the walls for good climbing holds, there were a pole jutting out at either side of the balcony wall. Probably to support some sort of cloth roof for the summertime. There was just enough space in between the poles and the roof. Jumping up he clutched the pole like a vice with one paw, it held. Satisfied that it did not collapse under Swifttail's weight, he clutched at the stone above the pole. Pulling his right footpaw up and onto the pole, he hoisted himself up until he was sitting on the pole. Bracing his footpaws on the stone wall, he reached up and grabbed the roof edge. Using his legs to 'walk' up the wall, he heaved himself onto the roof.
"I'm getting too old for this," he muttered under his breath as he glided along the roof top. He stopped, pondering in which direction to proceed. . . .

Delgar's lifeless body tumbled down the cliff, hitting the narrow path at certain points and breaking some bones before landing in the ocean with a splash below. If his body was found well.....it would show indications of having been attacked, but that was only if it washed ashore.
From his rooftop vantage point, Swifftail could see down into the second courtyard, where Delgar's son was. Crowds of beasts were milling out, enjoying cocktails, chatting it up or attempting to get their names in the papers with the reporters. Blue lanterns let off an eerie glow to the whole assemblage as they moved in and out underneath a string of them set up on poles.
The now deceased mongoose patriarch's son was inside the vault. He was in the lower levels, showing some of the reporters around his father's massive underground wine storage and of course avoiding the "secret" areas where the opium was manufactured. There would be a few ways to gain access to that courtyard. One would be to jump down onto the wall and thence into the gala area, but of course one of the guests might see, or to simply get down to ground level and walk through the gate, which was not being attended by a guard as it wasn't necessary. If you were in the first courtyard then chances were you were meant to be inside.
