"Good! I'm glad to hear you say it!" Otto exclaimed, just as Cutter re-emerged from his screen. He was still furless, but had on a rather fine outfit of black overcoat, white waistcoat, black trousers and no shoes. He adjusted his coat, sighing in relief.
"That bath did my skin good it seems. Sorry to address you in such a way....my fur only grows back if my condition stays away for at least a week." the ferret explained. "I too am glad to hear your commitment. Your otter friend was beginning to think you were too lackadaisical to fully throw yourself into our cause....but he's glad he was proven wrong." the furless ferret cracked a smile now, and nodded.
"I want to be able to count on you in the future. Tell me though." Otto stepped into the light now, a sharp contrast to where he had stood in darkness before. "Are there are any other questions, concerns, or conditions you might have now? I want you leaving here feeling like you have no more reservations. And please...you can speak freely in front of Mr. Cutter....he is not one to judge." Otto spoke honestly, and Cutter nodded, that friendly form back on his face again.

"There are none that I can think of at the moment, to tell you the truth," Sciurus replied. "Everything's been dealt with, really. Otto asked me to accompany him as he thought that a meeting with you would help, and it certainly did. Thanks for your help, sir. It would seem that you've unlocked a part of me that I didn't know even existed, and for that I am eternally grateful. My general nervous disposition needs to be worked on, but neither of you need to worry about that, for as far as this Revolution of ours is concerned, everything has been sorted out just fine."
The squirrel strode over to the ferret and shook his paw once again.
"It has been a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Cutter."

Cutter however, did not immediately let go of Sciurus's paw. Instead, he pulled him a bit closer and fixed him with that rather stern gaze of his again, though his smile was still upon his face. "So....you're absolutely positive that there's nothing else wrong or anything I can help with? You just freely admitted it yourself. You said it yourself that your nervous disposition needs to be worked on. In a tight situation, if you let your nerves dominate you.....you might end up unable to act...especially when other beasts need you."
He was practically breathing into Sciurus's face now as he studied him once more. "If you admit that you might get nervous again....then it appears you still have doubts."
"If there's anything on your mind or troubling you.....why not tell us now so that we can work on anything? Unless of course it's just....in your nature and you'd have to work on it on your own time." Otto suggested, offering a friendly piece of advice. "I mean...you know you can trust me, and well Cutter...I'd place my life in his paws of course." the otter stated.
"As I would with you Mr. Kurtz...." Cutter said with a smile and a nod, finally letting Sciurus go. "If it's truly something you need to work on on your own then fine. I do hope I've made everything clear to you as well as the gravity of the situation we find ourselves in as well. Our situation WILL improve....we just have to work to ensure that it does." the ferret finished.

"You know, I was thinking that I could deal with it on my own just fine, but if either of you would like to lend a paw with my nerves, then I would greatly appreciate the help. It would certainly go a long way towards boosting my confidence as regards this whole thing. I'm all for it if you are," Sciurus replied.
"It's not something that I absolutely, one hundred per cent, need assistance with, as it seems that I have assessed the reasons for said disposition well enough, and would be able to work on it in my own time as I suggested, but anything that would help to speed this along would be great. I'm not entirely certain what it is that would make me nervous, other than a general feeling of unease... perhaps a sense of inadequacy? As I've said, onfidence issues..."
The squirrel shifted uncomfortably from footpaw to footpaw. There was no point in telling himself that he would be able t handle most anything thrown at him with no bother, any longer. He decided to see this out.

"Actually....I think I may be able to help with that." Otto chimed in now, patting Sciurus on the back. "I own a parlor see...which Sciurus partly owns as well....so I think he'll know to what I'm referring." Cutter caught on immediately, and nodded.
"Ah yes....that ancient art. Well you know....it's late....I might as well head to the surface and do some shopping. A ferret's gotta eat after all." he chuckled. "It's just about time for my breakfast. I've become a creature of the night sadly, but can't really be helped due to my circumstances." he sighed, but with a smile on his face.
"I'm glad you met Mr. Cutter. He's quite the Revolutionary.....and one you can always go to if you need a bit of a confidence boost or have further questions. His room is down here, underneath the Island of the City....which of course must remain a carefully guarded secret, needless to say." Otto explained to Sciurus as he began to head for the door. "Are you satisfied then? I feel as I can count on you from now on in aiding with the deposition of the King and the furthering of the Revolution."

"I came here looking for explanations, and Mr. Cutter delivered. I feel as though I cannot thank either of you enough for your help."
Sciurus walked a few paces, then stopped, turning to the ferret.
"I will certainly keep in mind what my otter friend's told me. You may not have seen the last of me yet, sir," the squirrel called, smiling. Then, turning back to Otto, he resumed walking towards the door. The meeting had lasted little over an hour, but it had been more than sufficient for Sciurus. He felt like a new squirrel as far as the Revolution was concerned. He knew that he was pretty much useless when it came to combat, for he had little experience of it. Sciurus' skill as an orator was something that had gained the timid creature some recognition. He knew, however, that when it came down to it, and he was told to fight, as he knew he would be someday, he would have to be prepared. This was another thing that he needed to improve on. An opportunity for him to do so would spring up in due time, but the hypnotist's thoughts were already turning to other things. Before he could even think about what the coming war would require him to do, he had to do his part so that the removal of Augustine could be brought about.

Cutter nodded, cracking a smile now. "Do be sure to read my paper. It comes out biweekly, and it will keep you up to speed with current events as well as give you indications about what needs to be done....in my humble opinion at least. Also pick up a copy of Sieyes's 'What is the Third Estate' if you can manage it. It will help you immeasurably I think." were the ferret's parting words. "Good of you to drop by....I hope to see you again.....on the surface if I am able to." he said, following them out of his "room" and heading right behind them towards the opening of the sewer grate.
It dumped into the river Trist, flowing out to the sea. The three creatures exited, Otto leading the way, Cutter bringing up the rear. "I must move quickly......best of luck to the two of you. I'll be plotting for the King's deposition in the weeks ahead. We must not shirk from our duty." he said emphatically, and began climbing the stairs up to the bridge where he'd soon vanish into the night. Otto watched him go, striking his tail upon the pavement before he too started up the stairs.
"Well.....we'd best be off into the night ourselves. I too plan to coordinate my efforts with those of Cutter, and soon......within the next few weeks I hope.....months at the most, our plan will come to fruition. One of these days.....or nights.....Rosferia will become a Republic....I swear it now!" he said in a low and yet determined voice. There was nothing he wanted more. He would not stop until his dream had come to pass....until every beast had equal say in the running of their country. It was his cause now, and he would devote himself to it until it came to pass.
END
