Swifttail looked over to the crocodile, rather uncomfortable with all these beasts around him. "I'll eat what my host chooses to put in front of me," he replied. Just when he found a corner with nobeast about, everybeast just has to come his way! Why can't he ever just be by himself for once! Without all these pitiful creatures that can't even lift a sword, or even use one! But this panther, he looked an experienced swordsbeast, he even looked like he might have a price on his head. Hmm, he could use the old school method, would make him look like an idiot though. Turning his eyesight to the panther, he eyed him carefully as he asked. "Do you happen to have a price on your head," he asked. It was a strange question, but necessary if you needed money to live.
As he asked the question, some pills slid into his staff. Picking them up in his paw, he looked at the ferret. Gathering his strength, he spoke. "Thank you, miss. He's a strange creature, I saved his life. He's been following me ever since. Even saved my life a few times," he said with a fake smile. He tried to seem more friendly and social around females, just to be polite. Swifttail slid all but one of the pills into a small pouch on his side, throwing the other one into Ikki's wide open mouth. He'll have to swallow it sooner or later.

Rahka eyed the squirrel with a smirk. He seemed very forward, something he admired. "Not yet," He replied with the tone of voice one uses when they know they can get away with something, "I try to stay out of trouble. I may be a warrior but that doesn't mean I support brawling in the streets!" Rahka eyed the squirrel, he had the look of a warrior about him, and he certainly seemed like he was looking for some action. Perhaps he could get some livres out him. "However, if you're looking to hire a swordbeast, I can tag along with you and your friend over there," The panther gestured towards the newt with his head, "for a price."

Swifttail hadn't laughed in six years. The laugh came out loud and jolly, it felt like pulling a dusty cloak out of an old chest in the attic. He liked this panther, he seemed to be a wandering warrior as him. Swifttail felt as if he could talk to this beast all he wanted. "I like your style, panther. But I'm afraid that's same reason for me. I need money. Action grows short these days for us old veterans, not much action," he said, tightening his grip on his staff. "I'm sorry my friend, we have nothing to offer except friendship and a fellow sword," Swifttail continued. He wouldn't mind another beast join their small "group" of fighters. . .

Rahka gave out a short and soft chuckle. "I know times for those like ourselves are rough at the moment," the panther began, "I would never take up a job hunting for a bistro under normal circumstances. However, I also know that we are slowly becoming obsolete. It's those guns. It makes me sick, the future of warfare is an object that takes all the skill out of combat. Maybe I'll become obsolete before I live out my usefulness, maybe I won't, but I am NOT going to sit idly by and wait for it to happen. You seem like a capable beast, if you want to know more, meet me outside."
Rahka walked out slowly and casually, same way he had walked in, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

Swifttail listened intently to the panther as he spoke. Yes, guns. What an uncivilized way to kill a beast. To stand off at a distance like a coward and to kill, it made him sick.
Hmm, meet him outside. For a fight? Hardly. Swifttail prepared himself as he walked out the door. "I'll be back in time for the food," he said to the crocodile. Gripping his staff tightly, he leaned against the left the side of the doorway, waiting for the panther.
OOC>Sorry for sloppyness.

Rahka walked up to the door and opened it. He walked out with blatant disregard for holding it open for the squirrel. He turned around slowly, waiting to see if the squirrel would follow him.
(OOC: Sorry for the short post, didn't want to do any sort of powerplaying, even if it was only to do it on a very small scale.)

Swifttail followed the panther out of the building, closing the door behind him. He took three steps away from the beast just in case. The squirrel leaned casually on his oak staff, a smile on his face. "Well. . ."
OOC>Not much to tell in this post, sorry.

Milton Lanzter merely regarded the exchange between the two with amusement. Oh the idle bantering of the peasantry. Why did every peasant feel as if it was his or her duty to change this country? They were plenty secure as they were....though in reality, Milton had other goals as well. The monarchy for one could afford to be overthrown in his opinion entirely. No use having a King that would veto every single law the Assembly came up with after all.
He ordered something for the squirrel, figuring on eating it himself if the fellow didn't come back in time. Didn't they realize HE could provide for them? Provided they did him a few favors that is. Ah well, the waiter trotted off and Milton was left relatively alone. His soup arrived shortly after, and the hungry crocodile began sipping at it, downing the noodles with a sort of mute appreciation on his face. He enjoyed the finer things in life after all......food being one of them. Now....if something could only be done about those pesky emigrants without the King refusing to take a stand against them.....

Rahka looked at the squirrel's hesitation and chuckled slightly. "You don't have to worry, I wouldn't kill you out here, there would be witnesses," The panther said. It was hardly a reassuring statement, but Rahka had no desire to kill the squirrel either way. "I think you actually understand what is going on with warriors. We are slowly being replaced. Tell me, when was the last time you saw any real action?"

Swifttail loosened his hold on his oaken staff as he listened to the panther. Real action, it had been a while since he had fought beasts who could actually fight. Though if he revealed it to anybeast, he would probably be considered a traitor or uncivilized beast. But he felt he could trust this warrior. "Other than countless thieves on roads," Swifttail smiled. "Last year a horde down in the Eastern Hordes offered me a place in their horde. I was desperate, Ikki and I were starving, we needed food. Since then, the goings been hard," he continued. It seemed longer than a year, like a long gone lifetime.
"I've even thought of settling down, starting a family, continuing the line of Darkbrushes. But that won't ever happen, I have Darkbrush blood in me. I don't think there's single squirrel maid out there that although may be pretty, you can't trust her with your whiskers," he laughed at his last remark. . .
OOC>Sorry for shortness, don't have very long here.
