To the victor goes the spoils....and whoever plays the commanding general who wins a battle gets points. Each battle is worth a certain amount of points, though penalties can be incurred by mostly failing to post in a timely manner. You will not be docked for casualties incurred or failed plans, as those will only effect battles IC. For example if you win the battle but slaughter your army doing it well...chances are your campaign is gonna be at an end. For this first battle it was mostly give away points, but from this point on you have to work to earn the points. Rosferia lost about 3,500 troops, mostly on garrison duty in the town of Dumont, and it did not detract from their Army of the North and Army of the Center. Gradvar gained Dumont, but is pausing at the moment thanks to the disagreeance between Ferdinand and Frederick about the conduct of the campaign. Ferdinand would rather wait and build up a base at Dumont, whereas Frederick wants to keep moving. So after our first battle points stand as follows..... Ninjasquirrel: 81 points What are points used for? Well.....I guess you'll have to wait till the end of the year when I do the tally.

Bet ya I'll have the least points by the end of the year. I'm the worst military strategist.

Because points are generally awarded to the actual field commander, in this case ninjasquirrel, as he was making the moves in battle. They're the ones who PM me they're moves or indicate them via writing. Only the overall commander gets points, though Frederick was still entertaining to watch. Looking forward to the next battle really as there'll be more of that.

OK, so after Valmy, points are now as follows: Ninjasquirrel: 81 Skipper: 570 Bookity: 565 There were a total of 600 points up for grabs in this battle, and some points were deducted based on decisions made and casualties taken, but overall you guys did very well and didn't suffer too many penalties in that regard. Bookity I did award you points as it was a joint effort. Usually points are reserved for the commanding officer only, but Duross and Kellerman were more of a team in this with about equal rank (they both commanded an army, Kellerman's was smaller than Duross's). Next battle points will probably go to commanding general only. Good job guys, Rosferia's first victory is now behind us.

An excellent question. Points are awarded to the winning team ONLY. Since that wasn't me, I don't get any. And besides, I'm giving out prizes for whoever has the most points by the end of the year, so not much fun if I give myself a prize is it? Sure maybe one of these years I will, but we'll see what happens. So I'm going to revise the points system a TAD. Instead of going solely to the winning commander, subordinates can get points as well, but not as much as the overall commanding general. This I hope balances things out a lot and will keep things interesting over who will have the most by the time the year ends. So yeah, I didn't get any this time because I wasn't on the winning side. This will hopefully motivate people to really do well in battles and carefully consider their moves and everything. Be CAREFUL to pay attention to the OBJECTIVES in the "recommended strategy" section next time, as it seems everyone just sort of completely forgot about those. There was really no need to launch attacks on Gradvar's position because they were the offensive army at the start. They HAD to launch attacks in order to win. But irregardless, you guys did pull off a victory....but next time I won't be pulling my punches. Next opponent won't be a pushover like Ferdinand was, though with that said, he'll have some major disadvantages from the start anyways. XD As far as prizes go, you'll have to see what choices you'll get at the end of this year. But normally it entail getting an extra character slot, or getting to pick from a list of "Epic Characters" which I'll go into detail about later on to put into one of your character slots (and if you're full you'll automatically get the extra slot), and other things which I don't want to spoil just yet. So stay tuned and the last day of the year is when we'll be announcing the winner and prize categories will be laid out. I'll be putting up a list of prizes in December a few weeks before the announcements so that the potential winner can make their decision. So as said....continue to stay tuned and good luck in the battles....hoping this really motivates good RPing and gets people to actively participate in the war threads and such.
