OOC>Decided you won't be needed for this thread, Ladorak.
It was early morning, Siegfried had read the message a million times over. A cloaked figure stood behind him, patiently awaiting orders. Standing up out of a rickety wooden chair, Sieg looked to his love, Lunaesta, peacefully slumbering in the inn bed. Looking to the cloaked figure, he nodded.
"I'll go," he said. The figure bowed on his knees bending his head in a sign of respect. Siegfried snarled.
"Up off your feet, I will not have you bow to me." The figure stood instantly up, he pointed to the doorway. Siegfried looked to his sleeping love.
"Not yet, I must get my things . . . and attend to something else." Walking to the bed, he knelt down. Gently, he shook Luna to wakefulness. Putting a claw to his lips, he explained.
"Meine liebe, something has arisen I did not expect. I must go to Ralandore, my people need me. There land is being invaded, they are hopeless with out a proper leader. I need to return to my people to help sort out the matter. Will you go with me, or would you rather stay here. I could give you Ladorak's address, he would help you. . . ."

Luna was dead to the world. She heard nothing that was going on at the door. Her body was limp and rested in a rather deep slumber, that was until Seig shook her back to the land of reality. Softly she groaned and then rubbed her pink eyes, stretching lightly.
The ferret-tess was casual until Seig said what he did. Luna then sat straight up in bed with an expression of shock playing on her face. "What? You have to leave?" At first she wasn't sure that she was hearing him right but it soon sunk in. "I want to go with you. I don't want to be here by myself and away from you." Luna was a bit surprised that he have her a choice.
She wasted no time and jumped out of bed and hurried to gather her traveling things...

OOC>Ouch! I just popped my knee cap out of socket and then back into socket!
"I want to go with you. I don't want to be here by myself and away from you," replied Luna. She then proceeded to get out of bed and pack her things. Looking back to the figure, Sieg wondered if she had even noticed him. He was rather well concealed in the corner of the room. Standing up, Siegfried walked over to Luna and held her shoulders.
"Please, Luna. Once you are done packing. Wait out in the hallway with my messanger," he whispered. Turning away, he reached for a large leather bag. Hesitating, he held his paw out to Luna.
"Miene leibe, I'll need your brooch."

Indeed Luna had not taken note of the messenger but she wasn't afraid once she had noticed him, by means of Seig informing her to wait next to him once she was finished packing. Still though, Luna was put on edge a little. She was concerned as to this quick turn of events. Luna didn't say anything to Seig though. The ferret-tess simply put on a brave face, went to her night stand to retrieve the brooch, pawed it to him, and then finished packing.
After all of her items were packed she went to stand by the messenger, a couple of feet from him. Luna wasn't the trusting sort of femme. Usually it took some things to prove to the ferret that she could trust a beast, as she did with Seig. Truthfully he was about the only one that she ever truly trusted.

Sieg took the brooch from her and stared at it, it's silver back glinting in the morning sun. He touched the pearls and emerald lovingly, it was one of his only links to his homeland. He never wanted to return there, to be treated as some deity. But he had no choice, his empire needed him. Putting a grim face on, he closed the door. . . .
Back out in the hallway, the cloaked figure stood a couple feet away from the albino femme. He stood, unmoving and silent. Turning to face the female, he broke the silence.
"Sie frauline is uneasy," he asked. His voice high pitched, probably no younger than fifteen at least. Suddenly, the door swung open. Standing in the doorway was Siegfried, but not the ragged ranger. No, for standing in the doorway was an Emperor. Siegfried was no longer clad in a simple leather tunic and boots, he looked every inch the ruler of Ralandore. He was clad in a a fabulous indigo tunic, over which hung a green tabard. In the middle of the tabard was the symbol of Ralandore, a small island with a tree in the middle surrounded by water and topped off with a leather belt with a silver buckle. Then, he wore a long green cloak, held together by Lunaesta's brooch. Covering his footpaws were long pointed scarlet cloth shoes, scarlet was very expensive among Ralians. Upon his brow sat a beautiful crown, it was a thin silver ring thicker towards the front were an emerald surround by four pearls sat.
But he was also bore two scabbards on his belt. One held a longsword, while the other (obviously meant to hold a dagger) was empty. Ladorak held this dagger, and he would not go back without it. He would have to see his master before he left, perhaps he would allow him to borrow it for a while. . . .

Indeed Luna was nervous. She was quite young and she had been recently through some very traumatic experiences in her life. Well truth be told most of her life was very traumatic. It's only because Seig was near to her as of late that she was able to get over them a bit more quickly then usual. The result of her younger years was that she turned inward and kept to herself, almost seeming crazy to most. Seig was the only one that saw her for who she really was.
The white female didn't have to tell him that she was uneasy. He could see it but she shook her head 'no' anyway as her eyes took note of how handsome he looked, she herself looking more like his servant then his finance. Luna chuckled uneasily. She knew that she couldn't fool Seig but still she wanted to try. In truth her stomach was turning and her knees shaking but she put on a brave face. "I'm fine."

Siegfried took both of Luna's paws in his own, she looked so fearful, so scared. She had escaped death many times now, but only by an inch. Her many encounters with Randell had left her with an inescapable fear. A fear she could only conquer if Siegfried were near.
"Everything will be all right, meine leibe," he said softly in her ear. He very much wanted her to forget the past, to just look to the future. But that could not happen, she had witnessed too much. The only way that would ever come to be would be to rid the world of the assassin for ever. To take and arrow and shove it into the cat's chest! To listen to the scum scream and cry for mercy, but Sieg would not give in to him. No not him! He would push harder, shoving it farther until he screamed no more!
But the time would come. . . .
Siegfried held Luna's paw as they exited the carriage, they had finally arrived at Ladorak's house. They were only stopping for a short time though, as Sieg had some business to attend.
Knocking on the door, he adjusted the crown on his head and swiped some dirt off of his hosen. Turning to Luna, he winked. . . .

The sun was climbing up into the sky, bathing the Galdean waters with crystalline light. Ladorak had taken his breakfast as usual, the same as he'd done a hundred times before. If only he were on the deck of a ship and not here....He yearned for such times as he missed greatly. Caden was sitting across from him, munching on the last of his toast.
There was war on the continent...but peace had been promised by Prime Minister Falshed for what he believed would be at least 2 decades. He couldn't forsee the nation entering into any sort of warfare until then. Unfortunately for the rather hapless Prime Minister, he was to be dead wrong. But of course Ladorak nor Falshed knew nothing of this, and thus they remained, one in blissful ignorance, the other in woe.
Caden had recently celebrated his 12th birthday. One more year and he'd be in his tweens. That was a new time for every kit. Lots of changes would come over Caden's body. He'd start getting his growth spurts, his moods would begin to develop a bit more, and he'd be of age to stand upon the deck of a warship. That was one thing Ladorak wanted to be able to do with Caden above all others. He wanted to commission him a Midshipmammal and get him out on the water....start to raise him in the methods and discipline of life at sea.
"So...how does it feel to be 12?" Ladorak asked, giving the albino kit a smile over his spectacles.
"Well...no different I guess....but this is the first birthday I can remember where I really got any presents. Normally Helandria would just congratulate me on being a year older and continue training me." Caden shrugged. "When's your birthday, and how old are you gonna be?" the kit asked Ladorak. The stoat blinked.
"Well, that's in September, the 29th. I'll be 34." Ladorak explained. Oh the prime of his life was just passing him by....if only there was a way to get a command! He didn't want to spend these days sitting on shore. Maybe he'd write another letter to Admiral Howe....ask him for the hundredth time if there were any ships available.
"Huh.....you're more than twice my age." the marten remarked as he began to guzzle his orange juice. Ladorak nodded, still smiling, and polished off his mimosa. That was one thing Ladorak wasn't low on...champagne. He normally mixed a mimosa for himself every morning if he could, and just served Caden regular orange juice of course.
A knock came upon his door however, and Ladorak angled his head towards his front patio. "Oh....now who could that be?" he murmured. Was it news of his appointment!? Or just some caller? Maybe it was his father, dropping in to see how he was getting on. "Excuse me." he said to Caden, pushing his chair out and walking over to his front door.
Pulling it open he gazed upon Siegfried and Luna, the two engaged ferrets. Odd.....what were they doing here? Siegfried was wearing a crown, and immediately some sense of dread began to rise in Ladorak's stomach. What did this concern? Ladorak had made it clear before back when he had been a Captain that he didn't want to hear about Sieg's home country but...he had been on duty then. He was shore leave now....on half pay no less. Was something the matter?
"Siegfried, Luna." he said quietly. "What can I assist you two with?"

Luna had no idea why they were stopping at Ladorak's but she was sure that Seig had his reasons for doing so. Perhaps it was just to tell him that he would be taking a small leave from this place. Surely she would soon find out because Lad was now answering the door.
The white ferret simply nodded toward Lad and kept quiet. Seig would do all of the talking. Tightly the fem squeezed Seig's paw as she glanced around. She was forever looking for the male wildcat that tried to murder her.
