~Valeata
Val was more then a little discontent about how things had gone with Bone the last time that they spoke but what bothered her now was the fact that her father had managed to locate her and now he's assigned his henchbeast, or whatever his title really is, to commandeer her, to escort her back to his presence. Val wondered if he managed to find Viviana yet. She chuckled at the thought but when she got there she noted that 'she' was the first one to be 'captured'. Was Viv that hard to find. Well not matter. Val had bigger fish to fry. The last thing that she wanted her father to know was that she was engaged to be married to Boneparte. This little secret, not that she wanted it to be a secret, was the main reason she didn't put up much of a fight when Ratkin picked her up as she was making her way aimlessly as she was thinking deeply about what had just happened between her and Bone.
Normally Val was a calm sort of female but when she got in front of her father she was fit to be tied. It was then that she spilled the beans, well at least a few of them. Val informed him that she wouldn't be marrying a rich beast like he had wanted her to. She firmly held her ground. But then again so did her father. He was becoming ever increasingly agitated. It was at this point that Val knew that she needed to get away from him. This would be a little hard to do, especially because he had now locked her in their hotel room for 'safe' keeping until he could finally locate Viviana, Val's twin sister. Needless to say he was none to gentle with her and he assigned his 'assistant' Ratkin to look after her.

"I'm running into town sis.....I'll be back in a bit OK?" Boneparte called over his shoulder as he got his coat on. The autumn wind was blowing in the port city of Marsay these days, and made for a rather nice if not a bit chilly experience. Boneparte loved autumn, as the whole temperature reminded you that winter was on the way but that it wasn't quite here yet. The air was crisp and reminded him of being alive.
"Alright brother.....I'll see you then." his 15 year old sister, Elisa, nodded at him, looking up from her book she'd been reading at her windowside seat. They were staying in the Fortress of St. John, which was mainly a prison but doubled as lodgings for soldiers, which Boneparte definitely counted as. The odd thing about this fort was, that rather than being built to keep enemy warships out...it had been built to keep the town from uprising and rioting. The cannons all pointed inwards and not outwards. This was under Augustine XIV.....or so the meerkat thought.
At any rate, he needed to head into town to buy a few things. Namely he wanted to get something to eat as the food at the fort was mostly garbage in his opinion. Prison slop they'd feed to the incarcerated. He had spent several weeks here...but soon it would be time to go. Why was he waiting so long? Well one he'd gotten sick, but it hadn't lasted more than a day. And two well...he was holding out...hoping that by maybe some chance...SHE would come here....she would follow him.....and they'd be able to meet again.
But that was silly...they had parted ways, and Boneparte just didn't want to think about her anymore. He'd leave the continent soon...and she'd be behind him...across the sea and away from him. Sighing, he stepped out into the noonday sun and started making his way towards the city proper.

It wasn't like Val was having the time of her life. As a matter of fact her father was actually beginning to scare her. Her father even went so far as to bring a few rich suitors that didn't have any morals at all. They would scheme somehow enough to make beasts think that Val was truely royalty, just enough so that they could marry her and take advantage of her, forcing her to have their kits and in turn doing unspeakable things against her will. Jayd knew now that she would have to get away from her father and warn Viv, via messanger.
It was another long and grueling day of being held captive. Part of the femme wondered if she would ever be able to escape. Her thoughts then turned to Boneparte. At the time of their departure she was merely trying to protect him. Val knew that her father was becoming unstable but until this moment she was uncertain just how bad he had become. The trip to Rosferia only gave him more time to fester in his terrible thoughts.
Val began to weep. She wept mostly because she had left the beast that she truely loved with all of her heart, having never met a male quite like him, regardless of money or his social position. Val had discovered that such things wasn't what made a beast truely rich but it was the tender feelings that she felt when they looked at one another and the way that they felt when in each others arms. It was now that Val began to curse herself for leaving Bone. By now he might be miles and miles away from her. The thought of such distance ripped Val's heart in two pieces.

Boneparte found his way to a cafe, taking a seat by himself. He was in the city itself, without a water view. "Uh.....just a cucumber and bacon sandwich please." he said, setting the menu down indecisively. He had no idea what he wanted....he'd eat and then maybe poke around some of the shops, but he really didn't know what he'd buy.
Taking stock of his situation, the meerkat tried to keep his thoughts off of the female he was thinking of. It wasn't worth it...she had let him go....she wasn't worth the trouble. Just move on....forget about her.
Sighing, his sandwich arrived and he proceeded to partake of it, wondering what exactly Valeata Mist was doing now. Whether or not her father ever arrived.....and if he'd ever see her again.

Day turned to evening and then evening to morning. Val wasn't sure how long she was held captive but what she did know was that she was starving. They barely gave her enough to survive on. Her father has gone to far this time! He has surely gone off the deep end and Val would never forgive him for this.
As of yet Val hasn't told him yet that she was engaged to Boneparte. In truth she wasn't sure if she was still his fiance or not. He might be angry enough to take back his proposal. Val couldn't blame him but at the same time she did have her reasons for departing from him.
The sun was beginning to settle in the sky now. Val was visited yet again by her father. He informed her that they were moving her to another city so that the options would open up for a new mate for her. Naturally when the brave femme refused to cooperate with him yet again the henchman was let back in the room. This would be the worst beating Val has yet to receive, no long after she was moved to another location, a city right next to where Bone was.
Little did she know though but her mother had heard her cries. Until now she didn't know just how bad her husband had gotten. He had managed to keep her in the dark about what he was doing with Val but soon she figured it out. When Val was alone silently Zabreena, Val's mother, entered the room. She freed her daughter and told her to run. Val did just that but with a tremendous amount of difficulty. She was bruised and swollen and bleeding from many places. The femme wasn't sure that she'd be able to make it to Bone in time. But she had to try.
Lucky for Val it was getting darker and darker. Not many would question her appearance. She seemed more like a drunk that was staggering about until she finally made it into town. Val struggled to keep her vision clear. She only prayed that Bone was some place near. Softly she sat on a bench. Her body was aching and at this point she wished that she had a mirror to see what she looked like.
With such thoughts Val bent over and cried into her paws, the tears stinging the cuts but she couldn't help herself. The emotions were to great to hold in any longer. However she did stop when someone came to near to her and touched her shoulder. Val jumped and then turned to look up at who had laid a paw on her.

It was with some consternation that Boneparte noticed a certain gray furred female wander down the road and sit on a bench across from the cafe. That was Val! But how had she gotten here? Springing up, alarm washed over him as he saw how badly beat up she was.
What on earth had happened?! Pushing his way through a rush of beasts who were coming in from lunch, the meerkat was nearly squeezed in between two patrons who failed to get out of the way in time. "Ack!" he chocked out, finally managing to move his small frame between them. What was she doing here? Why was she all cut and bruised?
Coming at her from an angle, the concerned meerkat placed his paw on his shoulder, reaching out for her for answers. "Val?" he asked, feeling elation at seeing her, aversion because of her rejection, and of course concern over what sort of trouble she was in. "What...what happened? What are you doing here?" he asked the small female.

Upon seeing who it was with her own swollen eyes she began to cry even more. It frustrated her because she couldn't really speak very well. The pain was more then she could take but seeing the wall that Bone had put up between them hurt her even more.
Val shook her head and groaned loudly as her body shuddered. She longed to tell him that she left him because she knew that her father was looking for her. She wanted to tell him that she loved him but her lips just couldn't form the words.
After a few frustrating moments of this Val grabbed his sleeve and then pulled himself up and into his arms. Surely her gestures would let him know that she still cared for him deeply. Would he understand? Could he see the fright in her eyes? Val wanted to flee but her strength was giving out on her.

Boneparte almost recoiled when she grabbed him, and then moved into his arms, against his body so that she wouldn't collapse. "Uh..." as well he could say at first. A mix of emotions flooded his brain, swirling around and threatening to overwhelm him. It felt......good to be this close to her again, so good in fact that it sent alarm bells off in his head.
Wait! She shouldn't be this close to me! He'd given up her after all. He wasn't supposed to be doing this. He was leaving in a few days....he didn't need this. But....she needed help....he couldn't just leave her here. So far, she hadn't been very responsive to him either, indicating some form of problem.
"Come on....let's sit you down right here....come on...." he gently pushed her back to sitting, and placed himself at her side. "Now Val...I.....must admit I didn't expect to see you here again so soon. I'm getting ready to leave soon for Personza....my home....to see my family and escort my sister back there. Being a 15 year old female can have it's dangers on the road of course." he muttered. "What....what happened to you? You look like.....well like one or multiple beasts have seriously beat you. What's going on?" he asked, feeling slight anger rise within him at whoever did this, though for now he tried to let his temper not get the better of him.

~Val
Val was in utter turmoil. He sat next to her and tried to find out what was going on. Of course she couldn't tell him all that she needed to and she wanted nothing more then to get out of there. She needed to hide. What was she going to do though? Did he think that she had given up on 'him'? By the way that he was acting such seemed to be the case.
He chest was rising and falling rather quickly. She was exasperated as her brain tried to cling to the words that she wanted to convey to him. Tightly her paw gathered the material of his shirt that covered his chest while she leaned into him, the words doing their best to form on her lips. "I need to hide. I can't be seen. Help...." Her words were cut short by the blackness that passed before her eyes. Softly she gasped.
Val was tired... so very tired but her will was spurring her on. Inwardly she needed to calm herself. Hysterics wasn't going to help anyone. Val breathed deeply. "My father... he's gone crazy. We must leave. Please..." The kat-tess slowly stood and took a couple of steps forward, a puddle of blood was on the ground in her wake. There was more wrong with Val then Bone could imagine right now.

"Val...I don't think....your father did this?" he asked, tensing up. He was here? How far away was he? How much time did they have now? Shaking his head, the meerkat knew they had to move. They had to get to Personza....wait...they? He couldn't take her along right? She meant nothing to him anymore. She had spurned him...he didn't want to try and make up their relationship.
He didn't even consider them engaged anymore. But yet...he found he still wanted to get her out of sight. Maybe he still cared...or maybe he was worried about what beasts might think of him holding a bloodied female. Taking her firmly, he began leading her back to the fortress, hoping she wouldn't collapse on the way.
"My boat leaves soon Val....I don't have a lot of time." he said softly, trying to think of what to say. "I can't miss it...I've already paid for it and everything. I'm going to try to get you back to the fort but.....what do you want me to do after that? I mean....I was planning on just leaving Rosferia....forgetting about this....I've spent most of the year here after all and I'd....rather just go home." He could see the fortress in the distance, and knew they were drawing close. Not much further now.
