((Need to move this along. Sorry Jayd, I'm not sure where you went to))
Caden headed inside, leading the way past the oak dining table and into the pine wood floors of the living room. His pawsteps issued a thudding noise as he made his way towards the stairs, beginning to mount them when he almost ran smack dab into Ladorak, who was on his way down after informing his wife about the good news of his employment.
"Oh! Caden, Jal Sken. I wasn't aware you had come back inside. I'm...assuming that Caden passed on the good news to you Jal Sken." Ladorak stated after a pause, a smile breaking out on his features. "I heard word about the annual gala being held to welcome in the New Year. It's normally hosted in February for whatever reason but this year it's being held in January, probably due to the increase in foreign tensions and the government's desire to stay on top of things. Now normally one must have an invite from the Royal Family. I get one from Prince Ragnar every year, and those that have invites can extend invitations to others as they see fit." the ermine explained. He didn't mention that Prince Ragnar was practically the only member of the Royal Family that actually liked Ladorak. The rest despised him, and were it not for Ragnar Ladorak wouldn't be showing up at these things at all.
"So because I think it would be a good way for you to meet some of my superiors and get familiar with them, I would like to extend this invitation to you Vingo Sken. Who knows? You might end up enjoying yourself and may even bump into a nice jill or two." Ladorak said with a chuckle and gave the older marten a nudge with his elbow. Ladorak was about to blurt out that he took Caden to it last year, but stopped himself, as Caden had his arm broken then by Luxe. Ladorak figured it best to just skip this subject for now and tell Vingo about it in private, perhaps before the gala or after it.
"Can I come too?" Caden asked, looking up at the ermine.
"Of course." Ladorak said quickly, rubbing his paw in between his ears. He had...fond memories of that time, as vivid details of that night flashed through is mind. A lot had happened in the span of just a few hours. He was sure this one would be equally as memorable. "So what do you say Vingo? Care to join us?" The bespectacled ermine shifted his gaze down to Vingo, harboring a hope that the marten would say yes.
