Many things have occurred his month of November, and the National Convention has taken a definite step in proclaiming to the rest of the continent their intention to fight monarchy and imperialism in the name of freedom for all nations.
This entailed issuing a Decree of Fraternity, partly drawn up by Otto Kurtz and finalized by other members of the Convention. Part of the Decree is published here.
From this moment the Rosferian nation proclaims the sovereignty of the people, the suppression of all civil and military authorities which have hitherto governed you, and of all the taxes which you bear, under whatever form; the abolition of the tithe, of feudalism....of serfdom.....it also proclaims the abolition among you of all noble and ecclesiastical corporations, and of all prerogatives and privileges as opposed to equality. You are, from this moment, brothers and friends, all are citizens, equal in rights, and all alike are called to govern, to serve, and to defend your country.
This Edict of Fraternity is a call to all nations that wish to participate and join Rosferia in their raising of democracy across the lands. This call in particular is directed at such nations like Mordenz, which lives under a foreign rule, and other nations like Calgary that rely on foreign protection.
In relation to this, the armies of Rosferia have won a great offensive victory in Eastern Mordenz. After having pushed back Gradvar's invasion and launched a counter invasion of said Kingdom and wanting to keep their momentum going, the Army of the North under Carian Duross has launched an invasion into Eastern Mordenz to liberate both Eastern and Western provinces of that nation from Kostritz rule. The Kostritz Occupation Forces gave battle outside the capital of the East, Bruxelles, but were ultimately overpowered in a sharp contest that left 2,000 Rosferian casualties (out of a total of 43,000 troops) and 1,200 Kostritz casualties (out of a total of 13,000).
Duke Albert, the Kostritz governor of Mordenz, was forced to flee and Rosferia occupied Bruxelles, liberating all of Eastern Mordenz. Western Mordenz sits securely behind a massive series of fortifications and a defensive line known as the "Water Line," as much of the position is flooded and creates a sort of three mile wide body of water between East and West. General Duross is expected to concentrate his efforts at penetrating Western Mordenz in an attempt to liberate that region as well. Eastern Mordenz's reception has been overwhelmingly positive so far, and the West too is rumored to seek a Rosferian invasion, but the current Mordenz Steward, Prince William (on the paycheck of Kostritz) is expected to put up a fight.
Rosferia has ended the year so far with its first offensive victory and has marked the liberation of one neighboring province. Kostritz has finally readied it's main army however, and expects to send it up to the Mordenz border in an attempt to reclaim their reverses by next year. This army is rumored to be under the command of the blue tailed skink general Prince Josias.
Gradvar, for it's part, has dispatched roughly 50,000 troops from it's capital at Serline back to it's western border to try and drive back Count Adam Custine and his Rosferian troops. Custine had captured one of the main border forts for Gradvar, and advanced into a trade city before pulling back in the face of Duke Ferdinand. Custine now sits securely in the border fortress of Mainz, daring Gradvar to go and get him. It appears that for this year at least, Ferdinand will not be making any further moves as winter is very close to setting in.
In other news, Augustine will be brought to trial on December 11th by the National Convention. He was found to have conspired with both Kostritz and Gradvar in trying to get himself restored to his throne. He also consorted in secret with members of the Revolution such as former General Elmdor and the patriot Mirabeau. Otto Kurtz has ordered that the statues of Mirabeau be smashed and that his name no longer be honored as a hero of the Revolution.
This concludes the news for November, and as always we will keep you informed of developing situations.
