1781
March 28: Commissioned under the command of Captain Benjamin Caldwell
April 23: Docked at Portsmouth
May 7: Sailed for Spithead after storing
December 2: Sailed with Admiral Kempenfelt in HMS Victory and a 50 gun ship to intercept an expected Rosferian convoy bound for the Western Mandates
December 12: Encountered 20 merchant vessels escorted by 19 warships under Admiral de Guichen. The warships were sailing too far to leeward, and Kempenfelt gobbled up 15 of the merchant ships.
December 30: Entered Portsmouth after successful operation
1782
February 6: Sailed for the Western Mandates with Admiral George Rodney in the 98 gun Formidable to intercept a Rosferian war fleet.
April 8: Spotted the Rosferian war fleet under the Count de Grasse. De Grasse had a total of 33 warships escorting a convoy, and Rodney's fleet comprised 36 jacks-of-war.
April 9: Admirals Hood and Rodney shadow the convoy, but de Grasse orders his second in command to tack and attack the Welkin rear. By skillfully tacking to keep his ships parallel to the Welkin line, the Rosferian warships maintain a constant fire on Hood's squadron while keeping a distance away, Hood is forced to leave for repairs.
April 12: Battle of the Saintes: Admiral Rodney engages Admiral de Grasse in an all out contest for control of the Western Mandates. 36 vs. 33. Rodney employed an unconventional tactic of cutting right through the enemy formation and taking the Formidable in between two Rosferian vessels and engaging them from the other side. Other Welkin vessels followed suit. By the end of the day, Rodney has bested de Grasse and has captured 5 Rosferian vessels (including de Grasse's flagship City of Cosnair) and blown up a 6th. Agamemnon was in the latter part of the action, engaging the Caesar and Hector and losing her fore topmast in the action as well as having damage to her planking aft of gunport number 8. 14 killed and 22 wounded on Agamemnon at the Saintes, but the day ends in a Welkin victory, and drives Rosferia from the Western Mandates.
1783
June 3: Enters Chatham and is paid off.
October 29: Enters drydock to have her copper replaced.
1784
June 2: Emerges from drydock. Her refist costs totaled 10,000 pounds, 3 shillings and 9 pence with a further 2,000 pounds spent on rigging replacement and stores.
1787
November 1: Docked again for repairs, this time totaling 504 pounds, 9 shillings and 7 pence.
1790
November 9: Refitted again, this time more extensively, at a cost of 12,110 pounds.
1791
August 15: Refit is completed and she is readied for possible war with Delorn that never materializes.
