Name: Boneparte Lantzer
Species: Meerkat
Age: 26
Birthdate: August 15th, 1769
Nation of Residence: Rosferia
Status: General in Rosferian Artillery
Appearance: Standard looking meerkat with very light brown circles around his eyes, not highly accented at all. Stands about five foot seven, not too tall, not too short, though shorter than some other species. Normally wears the standard general's uniform of the Rosferian Army. No distinguishing marks or features.
Personality: Boneparte has a charm and grace about him that allows him to stand out in crowds, yet he also has a flaring temper to match, and is prone to outbursts if angered. He can be a bit arrogant at times, but has a sensitive side as well. Being from the hardy mountain island of Personza, he grew up with a fierce determination to succeed at whatever he puts his mind to and has a very large ambition. He can suffer from bouts of depression from time to time, but normally rebounds.
Biography: Boneparte was born on the rugged mountain island of Personza, which had just been sold to Rosferia a year after his birth, on August 15th. He was born to one of the most affluent families on Personza, though by Rosferian standards they were only lower middle class. His father was an attorney, and served on Rosferia's Imperial Court, something that Boneparte had always detested about his father. He was the second of 7 others, his mother's litter being quite big, and it was her tough and high pawed discipline that helped to keep the little rascal in line as he grew up. His siblings are Joseph (27), Lucien (19), Elisa (18), Louis (16), Pauline (14), Caroline (13), and Jerome (10).
Boneparte's minor noble background allowed him to enter the Rosferian Military Academy at a fairly young age, but he had an incredibly hard time fitting in with his fellow classmates, all native Rosferians who laughed at his insistence on being treated as nobility. His anger seemed unjustified to them, and he was mocked incessantly. Shutting himself away in his room to focus on his studies, the young Boneparte excelled at the sciences, history, and mathematics; hard core facts without the abstract thinking portion. He was forced to complete his schooling in less time than it normally took due to the death of his father, whom Boneparte never forgave for selling out to the Rosferians. He assumed the role of caretaker for his family upon his father's death.
Initially wanting to join the Welkinite Navy, Boneparte instead chose to try for the Rosferian Navy, but there were currently no openings available, and so, the dejected meerkat joined the artillery instead. Serving primarily on uneventful garrison duty, Boneparte welcomed the chaotic overthrow of the monarch and the ushering in of tentative democracy. He felt this presented a great opportunity for the country and for himself, and obtained an extended leave of absence to visit his family on Personza.
Upon returning, he was able to meet his all time idol and hero, the leader of the Personzan resistance movement. Personza was seeking to achieve independence from Rosferia, but Boneparte felt a more perfect union could be formed by the two now that the king had been stripped of much of his power. Taking time to study under his mentor, Boneparte had been elected to the post of Lieutenant Colonel in the Personzan militia and had become a sort of power on the island. He now had an excuse to not return to Rosferia, and had definitely violated his leave, but he cared more about serving Personza than he did Rosferia, and had attacked his duties with a spark and vigor so characteristic of him.
But those times came to a troubling end when he was blamed by his rival for being one of the hated emigrants and leading a revolt against the king's army in Personza. Forced to return to Rosferia to clear his name, Boneparte, after nearly a month of testimony, had managed to do so and had secured the post of captain in the Rosferian Army.
He now, after having successfully came up with the plan to recapture Toulon in 1793, resides in southern Rosferia, working as General of Artillery for the Army of Calgary. His plan helped secure the retaking of Toulon, catapulting him to brief fame, though he has since slid into an almost sleepy existence, chafing at the bit for his time to come. Until Ferlusan is dealt with, the Army of Calgary is on standby and forbidden from taking the offensive.
