The Legislative Assembly, in attempting to punish all spies and traitors within the nation, has stepped up it's attacks on the refractory priests who still refuse to take an oath of allegiance to the nation. If 20 citizens denounce them or speak against their favor, they can be immediately deported out of the country and sent either to Gradvar or Kostritz. The Assembly pushed this through and wants the King's approval for it right away.
The King however, seems to be facing a nervous breakdown and appears to be wracked by indecision. He did not immediately sign or veto this law, and the Assembly is growing impatient with him. With enemies over Rosferia's borders it seems that the nation is teetering on extinction or survival, or at least the Revolution is. The Assembly wants to get as many laws passed as it can before the Gradvar military sees fit to resume it's advance after taking over the border fortress of Dumont.
Perhaps it is this outside pressure that is weighing heavily on King Augustine's mind and creating this apparent freezing up of will and vacillation. The Assembly intends to push even more laws forward however, and plans to create an armed camp outside of Cosnair formed from the various new National Guard Regiements that have been raised and have marched to Cosnair over the past month or so in order to defend the capital.
As for the war itself, it seems that Rosferia might catch itself a bit of a breather as a massive army emanating from the Empire of Delorn has marched out of it's borders and entered the small Commonwealth of Kradowska that lies in between Delorn and Gradvar. This small nation has been the subject of much division by foreign nations over the years. Taking advantage of internal political bickering and strife, the nations of Kostritz and Delorn have taken it upon themselves to slowly gobble up the Kradowska Commonwealth and partition it amongst themselves. This was finally stopped by the intervention of the Kingdom of Gradvar taking Kradowska's side, but now it appears that with this latest invasion of Kradowska by Delorn, Gradvar might not be as willing to support it's small neighbor as it was in the past.
A few things are certain. It appears that Delorn was waiting for Gradvar to begin it's invasion of Rosferia in order to launch it's own invasion of Kradowska. This was what King Frederick II of Gradvar feared and why he had wanted to conclude his intervention in Rosferia in a timely manner. Fielding an army of 90,000 beasts, Delorn has moved into Kradowska where said Commonwealth, despite it's small size, has fielded an army of 70,000 to challenge the invaders. Due to such a large scale presence of two separate militaries on his eastern borders, King Frederick II has had no choice but to temporarily abandon the invasion of Rosferia and has returned to his capital in order to start strengthening his military up on the eastern borders. Whether he will intervene in favor of Delorn or Kradowska is unknown, but one consequence of his leaving his western army behind is that Duke Ferdinand has gone with him, leaving the strictest of orders to his forces to NOT advance further past Dumont until he returns.
This allows Rosferia to catch a breather it seems, though as for whether or not it can retaliate against the Gradvar forces already in it's borders is questionable. General Elmdor is claiming that the state of the Rosferian Army of the North is so poor that if it advances it would devolve into chaos. It seems a standoff for now is going to be achieved, as Gradvar's only other ally, Kostritz, was caught unprepared for war by Rosferia's declaration and is unable to field an army against Rosferia at this time. They too are keeping a watchful eye on Delorn as they recently granted that empire permission to use Kostritz lands in order to maneuver against Kradowska's southern borders. Because of the mere fact that a foreign nation has been given permission to march across their territory, Emperor Francis wants to keep his army at paw in order to ensure that Catherine the Mink's armies don't step outside their bounds when moving through his nation.
Minister Duross, Foreign Affairs Minister for Rosferia, has arrived at General Elmdor's camp and intends to start drilling the beasts in order to get their morale up and prepare them for an eventual confrontation with Gradvar and Kostritz, though whether or not Elmdor will retain his command has yet to be decided on.
