Noel stiffened when Ratkin kissed Viv,
"Hey now that's.." But Noel never finished his sentence. He felt something hard hit his head. He slumped to the table, the earth spinning around his head. He couldn't get his paws to obey him and fend off the beast that was wrapping them with pieces of rope, then hoisting him up over his shoulder.
The jostling was to much for him, he struggled against the darkness encroaching on his feild of vision. "Viviana..." he whispered as he lost consousness. *********
Myles had done as he was told, and gone to tell Leila that Mister Noel would need more muffins as soon as they were ready, and staid to talk for a few minutes while he waited. He didn't want to interrupt anything that the couple at the table might be saying. But his curiosity did get the better of him and he poked his head around the corner to watch them.
What was that!?! Who are they?!? And what are they doing?! Wait, Mic had warned him of this, that somebeast might try to hurt Miss Viv while they were out shopping, but this beast was carrying off Mister Noel! He glanced around and saw a large gray rat carrying Miss Viv one direction, and another rat had slung Mr. Noel over his shoulder and was carting him off too!
The poor mammelservant stood not knowing what to do.. should he follow Miss Viv? or should he follow Mr. Noel?? He stood in confusion... finally he shook and headed off after Noel, Mic said he would be watching out for Miss Viv, so he should go after Mr Noel, since he seemed to be out cold...
*********** Cold water splashed across Noel's face, waking him up, painfully, the lump on his head made him dizzy when he sat up to fast.
"Stay still Mr. Noel," Noel opened his eye's slowly.
"Myles, where's Viviana?" Noel tried to sit up again, but Myles placed a paw on his shoulderr and pushed him down again.
"Mic's following them, I saw him, well... he let me see him..." Noel smiled slightly at that. Mic never let anybeast see him if he didn't have to.
"All right then, call a cab and get us back to the cafe. Mic will contact us from there." Myles nodded and hailed the cab, then helped an dizzy Noel into the cab, heading back to where Mic would be waiting for them, he hoped...
********** Mic was indeed following Ratkin and Viviana to where the stopped and entered a building. Fixing the place in his mind, he trotted back to the cafe, certain that nobeast knew that he had followed them...

~Viviana
Viviana kept trying to look back at Noel. This was all her fault. Such thoughts were running through her mind. There was little hope in Viv's heart that this would all turn out well but she knew one thing... she wasn't about to marry someone that she didn't love. This was a turning point for Viv. She began to shout Noel's name but her efforts didn't last long. The femme to was knocked out and then slung over the rat's shoulder, her body dangling lifeless.
Ratkin suspected nothing, in that some beasts could possibly be following them. With the secret door knock they entered. Viv was tied to a bed until her father would arrive. Naturally her mother knew nothing of what was going on.
Viviana was dreaming while she laid there, her wound never looked after but she was happily given a few extra ones by the rats as she would start to wake up. Her father would be forced to wait a couple of hours before he could even converse with Viv anyway.
Stressfully her eyelids fluttered as her mind kept seeing Noel being carried away. She wept in her sleep. To the femme they were nightmares. At this point Viviana didn't care if she died. Living with the death of Noel was to much for her to endure.

Noel waited impatiently for Mic to get back with news, his head still throbbing slightly from the hit he had received. He fiddled with the sword blade at his waist, they had had time to go fetch it, and several pistols from the house, and Mic still hadn’t come back. Myles sat playing with the ties on his shirt sleeves. How could have been so stupid? If he had come right back out, they wouldn’t have been able to take Miss Viv away… “Myles, we must not worry about what might have happened if we had done something differently.” Myles looked up at Noel, opening his mouth to protest, but was stopped by Noel’s paw, “No ifs and’s or but’s Myles,” He smiled weakly at him. “I’ve been sitting over here wondering the same things that you have lad.” Noel settled back into his chair to wait, “One thing you learn when you start taking command, is that you don’t always make the right choices in the long run,” He sighed and rubbed a paw across his face. “You just have to make the ones that you have the information to make do with and go with instinct. He leaned forward again, unable to keep still despite what he was saying. He glanced up and to a corner, some instinct telling him to look there. “Admittedly , not all of your instincts will be right.” He stood, beckoning Mic over. “And sometimes there right.” Mic nodded as he came up. Moments later the three males started out towards the hidden door. [Jayd, I’m going to wait for Viv’s dad to appear before they go in, Noel wants to have some words with him… ]

~Viv
Viv's gray fur was looking very uncombed as was her long wavy silver headfur. Her dark gray eyes were closed but upon her eyelids one could see that she was dreaming, her orbs were flashing back and forth in their sockets. From time to time she would twitch and groan. The door watch beast would be alerted and was forced to look in on her, informing the rat what she was doing.
Eventually her father, Raith, came. He strutted in like he was a mob boss of some sort, thinking that he was pulling the wool over Zabreena's, Viv's mother, eyes. Zabreena was to smart for that. There would come a time of reckoning for Raith and he'd better watch it before he lost his entire family due to his cruel and unusual actions.
Raith conversed with the rat, periodically nodding and scratching his chin. In the room Viv was finally waking up but she remained quiet enough that no beast would be alerted. She tugged and pulled at the ropes that tied her footpaws and paws to the corner posts of the bed, to no avail. These beasts were obviously sailors who knew how to tie unbreakable knots. Viv stopped struggling and simply waited. She listened intently, thinking that she heard her father's voice.

Noel stood impatiently waiting for Raith Mist to turn up. This was.... frustrating. He had spent years building up a wall around himself, and here she was breaking it. Of that he was certain, he wouldn't be here if she wasn't. Love? that he wasn't sure, a beast like Noel took his time to decide things, the one thing he had decided at this point was that he would not stand for anybeast forcing others to do what they didn't feel was right. His own father had tried that and it had almost worked. He would not let that happen to others.
Finally, after almost 30 minutes, Raith turned up. Myles listened to the Raith's knock from his spot 'sleeping' with his hat pulled low over his eye's. After the door closed and Myles heard the lock click, he raised his head and signaled over to Mic and Noel. The three of them made their way to the door, and Myles knocked the same way he had heard Raith do.
Soon enough another rat came to the door, sliding it open.
"'Bout time you got back!" he snapped, he assumed it had been the rat who had taken Noel off to drown him. The punch he got to the jaw was defiantly not what he was expecting. Mic shoved the limp rat out of the way and Noel stepped in. The darkened room had a dank feel to it, their were several rooms and he assumed Viviana was in one of them.
He motioned Myles and Mic farther into the building, looking quietly for Raith.....

~Viv
Viv could sense now that her father was here. She began to tug and to pull on the ropes that tied her wrists and her angles, causing them to rip through her flesh and to make her bleed. Raith rounded the ben and was just about to her door when Noel and his helpers came in. He was unaware of their presence or perhaps he just thought that they were his associates and so he feared not.
In the meantime Viv began to scream and shout. "FATHER! Untie me! This instant! You can't do this! I'm your daughter!" Just then her father unlocked the door and entered, leaving the door ajar. No beast would hear them and so he didn't care. Viv kept yelling until her voice was hoarse and her throat raw. "You can't do this! I won't marry someone of your choosing! I can't let you ruin my happiness! I have a job! I have a good life now!" Viv began to cry, the last part of what she said was loud enough but it was laced with sobs. "I may have found someone! He probably doesn't know it yet but..." Of course she was referring to Noel. She knew though that it would take a long time for him to even warm up to the idea of falling in love, or so she thought.
Raith's face was slightly raged but his voice was stern and controlled, deep and authoritative. "Child... I am sure that he isn't rich and it will do no good to our family. Val escaped and so now it's up to you. Don't you want to save the family? Your mother's clothing's wearing out. I haven't been able to buy her a new dress in ages." Viv was also firm in her stand. She began to sob harder. "No! No..no..no.."

Noel looked in every room as he passed them. It wasn’t necessary for long though. Soon enough he could hear Viv’s yell’s and her fathers answers. Well it didn’t matter who the beast was, it wasn’t up to Raith Mist to decide what would happen to his daughters, even if he did think whomever Viv had found an was extremely lucky beast. He slowly drew his blade then entered the room, his blade dancing along Raith’s neck.
“I don’t know about you Mr Mist.” Noel cocked an eyebrow, “Do you mind if I call you Raith? No? Good.” Noel walked around the room towards the bed. “Your daughter, the one tied to the bed there..” He motioned with a paw towards Viv. “She is my employee. Viviana Mist and I think you’ll find that I take a…” He paused thinking of a word as Mic took his place threatening Raith. “…personal interest in the health of my employee’s.” He smile, his smile not quite reaching his eye’s. “You see I wouldn’t want her to miss her first payday.” He removed medium sized leather bag from his pouch. It was filled with silver and gold pieces, enough for the three remaining Mist’s to live comfortably for quite some time. He dropped it to the ground between himself and Raith. Then he turned and undid the bands on Viv’s paws, then helped her sit up. He turned back to Raith. “Your choice Raith. Take the money and I’ll continue to supply you with enough funds from Viviana’s pay to live quite comfortably.” He placed a paw on her shoulder. “If you continue like this, you will get nothing.”
Noel turned back to Viv, smiling for real and allowing a wink to accompany it. “Let’s get you back to Bella, she’ll have you feeling right as rain in no time.”

~Viv
Of course Raith was surprised when he was interrupted and threatened by the cold feel of steal on his neck. It gave him chills and naturally he stood stock still and just eyed the newcomer. As Noel moved away he was about to take a step forward when he realized that Noel wasn't alone. Another took his place so that he didn't advance on Noel.
Raith's face was cold and stern but he wasn't without reason. The sound of the coins dropping on the floor made his heart rejoice and his stomach fill with butterflies. His thirst for money had become great. Viv had never seen her father like this ever before. Perhaps he would see the error of his ways and change. Usually he was such a loving father and husband. Viv could only hope but for now she just wanted to get away from him. She was in pain both physically and emotionally.
Her father said little. He just grunted and then nodded, looking at his daughter sadly. A glint of him was sorry. Perhaps that glint would grow. Raith looked back at the beast threatening him and he put his paws up in the air, indicating that he wasn't going to do anything stupid as he then leaned down to pick up the bag of coins. He then bowed his head and backed up slowly, allowing them the path to exit.
Viv was shaking but Noel's warm smile and wink calmed her nerves. She watched him intently, amazed by his way of handling this situation. Viv waited until he was ready to leave before making a move. In the back of her mind she was wondering if Myles had gotten her packages from the cafe, which had Noel's gift in it.

Noel helped Viviana to her feet, careful to steady her and equally careful to not touch her still raw wrists. “Here we are Miss Viviana, come this way, we’ll get everything set right again as soon as we can.” Myles came to support her on her other side, slipping the two boxes he had taken from the table into her pocket.
“Here’s these Miss Viv, I didn’t forget them.” He smiled at her as they walked down the hallway and out into the sun again.
“Mic, go fetch and pawsom cab, we won’t be walking back to the Brick.” Mic nodded at Noel’s command and went to find one, dragging Myles with him. He was not going to find one alone. Stopping at the end of the lane, he sent Myles one way, and he went the other, leaving Noel and Viviana alone, completely unintended on Mic’s part, but they were alone nonetheless.

Viv never looked back as she left her father standing in that room. All of her attention was on Noel, though she did smile softly at Myles when he slipped the boxes into her pocket. Viv was grateful to have such good friends. She felt like she's home. Ever since she met Noel and got a job but today was the real turning point. Viv knew that she was surrounded by people that cared about her. Their friendships could only deepen from here.
The sunlight felt good on her face. She let out a sigh of relief but she still wanted to keep walking, at least a little further away from the building. "I don't want to be near that building." Even though she was hurt she still tugged Noel along, determined to make her distance from her father. "Thank you for saving me Noel. You just changed my life." Viv looked up at him and smiled.
She finally stopped walking. "I have a gift for you Noel. Do you want it now?" Viv was eager to give it to him but if he wanted to wait that was fine as well. Softly she groaned and her brow creased as she felt the pain from her ankles and wrists. Viv was bruised in places on he body but that didn't hurt as bad. She was sure that she'd feel more pain tomorrow.
