Ladorak did do as she had hoped, making his way to the bar that was nestled away in one corner of the Dining room. It was one of those exclusive to large homes, and the ermine kept it fairly well stocked with a variety of liquors, whiskeys, brandies, and the sort, not being much of a beer beast himself.
It seemed as if Jayd wanted to take center stage on the cooking, so for now Ladorak made no move to protest. He did however move in to the kitchen to his ice box to retrieve some Egg Nog from the upper shelf, or the area that did not freeze items but kept them chilled (there were no refridgerators of course). Taking out the thick white drink, he poured himself a glass, replaced the drink, and then went over to the bar to mix it with cognac and bourbon. He swished it around inside a metal mixer, dumping the contents back in to his glass again.
"Would you like a drink?" he asked her, sitting down at his bar and taking a sip of the concoction. He eyed her from over the rim of his spectacles, his whiskers whitened slightly by the drink as he moved to wipe them off with a cloth napkin he kept handy under the bar. He could see she was making tea, so perhaps a drink wasn't necessary, but may as well be polite after all.

Jayd went about her business though from time to time she watched Ladorak intently. When he looked up at her she looked away. She had hoped that he didn't notice her looking.
The whistle of the tea kettle filtered through the air. It was about the time that she finished making her tea that the male asked if she'd like a drink. She grinned and took her cup over to him, leaning over the bar she looked up at him. "A little Almond Liquor might taste good in my tea. Do you have any of that behind there?" She smiled.
Right after she had made her request her ears picked up the sound of her frying pan sizzling. Jayd gasped and gracefully made her way over to the stove where she would drop some fish into the butter that was hinted with salt, pepper and a little lemon juice. It smelled heavenly already.
After her mind felt safe enough to leave the stove once more she found her way back to the bar. She wondered if Ladorak had found the Almond Liquor or not and she assumed that he'd inform her of that before she took a sip of her tea.

"Yes of course." he said rather quickly, as if he was aiming to please her. Oh....here we go again, he thought to himself as he got up and went behind the bar. Rummaging through his liquors, the ermine's nose began to twitch. Fish? And....REALLY good smelling fish from what he could tell. Wow! He could cook gourmet but THIS smelled divine!
Setting the bottle on the counter, he was turning over the possibility in his mind that he had wanted to please her because he liked her. She intrigued him to be sure, but how did he really feel about her? Well it was simple. He wanted to get to know her better but he was being cautioned by his past experience now. NEVER enter anything too quickly. It might seem silly, but the ermine was protecting himself against damages that might be done to his being. He REALLY wished he were at sea right now though, and away from the temptations of this female.
She was approaching him though, and he held the bottle out to her, pouring some in to her cup without her asking for it. Setting the bottle back down, Ladorak gave her a smile that seemed content but was hard to read. "Those fish your cooking smell absolutely delicious. From where did you learn to cook if I may ask?" his eyes shone now behind his glasses, as he was curious where she'd learned her trade. Cooking was an interest of his as well, as it was really the first job he'd held back at the Imperium.

Jayd flipped the fish and then prepared other items in which they would eat. She made potatoes and vegetables and really anything else that she could think of, including a nice peach cobbler. The stoat-tess was an efficient cook because soon she was back to where Ladorak was, sipping of her tea.
Softly she groaned and then answered him as she sat her cup down. "Fish was a specialty of my mother's. She taught me. I found that I really love to cook. I can cast a line pretty well too! Aboard our trade ship we fished just about every day for our meals and then from time to time we'd dock and get other supplies to go with it." Jayd sniffed the air. The aroma smelled mouth watering. Indeed she was hungry.
Jayd picked her cup up and sipped again and again, the almond liquor clearly making her eyes shine and her inward parts warm, all the way down to her toes. Not only did her eyes shine from the liquor but she found that when she looked at Ladorak for to long she began to feel herself become... well... giddy. Her stomach began to flutter with butterflies and her heart quickened its pace.
The femme smiled at him before she would go back to the stove. She took care of what she needed to and then set out to find a pot for the syrup that she'd need to make for the desert. Her eyes spotted it, hanging from the ceiling and a bit too high for ‘her’ to reach, even though she made a futile attempt to do so. Gracefully her body was lined as her arm stretched out but still she fell short of reaching it. This was a job for Ladorak and so Jayd asked, still trying to get it for herself. "Ladorak? Will you get me that pot?" Her finger pointed to the one that she wanted as she stood upon tippaw with one foot while the other leg elegantly bent upward.

He sat there for a spell, with her in fact, as he was one side of the bar, she the other. The egg nog was a seasonal favorite of his, and for once he was actually glad he was on shore to savor it, as he wasn't likely to get such a kingly drink at sea.
He nodded at her comment, not saying much, only listening. He was trying to keep his mind off of her and on what might lie ahead. He knew that unlike most of the other nations out there, Galdea was actually friendly towards the new revolution in Rosferia, and so long as their King was kept alive, he figured that's how things would remain. It meant peace.....and sort of....maybe deep down...Ladorak hoped that's how things would stay. Maybe....just maybe.....the ermine should settle down, not worry about sailing off in to glory and battle....maybe he could start a family here in Thorpe....
But was he really thinking straight? Ladorak's love of the sea was greater than anything he'd ever known in his life, and he quickly brushed those previous thoughts aside. Of course he didn't want war, but if it came, he would be ready. She moved away, and didn't catch himself in time to stop from smiling as she tried to get a pot. Syrup she was after. Oh his senses were tingling with that aroma of food cooking, and he could tell this dinner was going to be good, though it wasn't a special occasion by any means.
Was she TRYING to catch his interest? The way her body was aligned was just....enticing to the ermine, and he hated to think of himself as getting this way, like an 18 year old kit again, drooling over his first crush or something. It was so pathetic really, and had he been at sea he was confident this would never happen. His discipline was just....slipping.
Everything about her, even a seemingly clumsy pose like that, was graceful, charming in a way, and he shuffled over from behind the bar, drawn towards her innocent call for help. "Here..." his height was more than enough to reach the pot, though he did have to stretch, and he handed it off to her, nodding. "There you go. So you learned from your mom on a merchant? Good thing you were never attacked by pirates." he commented seriously. "I heard there's several groups out and about, even in this day and age." he said, not even suspecting her true origins.

Indeed she found herself flirting endlessly. She began to long for his attention back but it never came. He was a rock, a fortress. Part of the female wanted to laugh. Surely he would only be able to resist for so long. Jayd found it fun to entice him so.
His close proximity sent out vibes. Surely he had to feel them. He had to be blind if he didn't take note of just how beautiful she truly was. Jayd was beginning to enjoy this. Perhaps she would push him as far as she could until he would break. Even without touching him she could send him into torrents of emotions.
Jayd took the pot and then turned, only to bump into him directly. She could turn on the charm when she wanted too. Shyly she looked up at him and smiled as she took a step to the side. "We never were attacked by any pirate ships." Softly she chuckled as she made it to the stove, beginning to stir some sugar with some water in order to make the broth for the sweet delight.
It wasn't long after that Jayd had the cobbler in the oven baking. Everything else was done save for the desert and so she quickly decorated the table with the proper dishes and the finished foods, but not before taking another sip of her tea along the way as she then motioned for Ladorak to take a seat at the table.
Jayd would wait for him to sit before she would take a seat directly across from him, a legs length away from him if she were to stretch her footpaws out toward him beneath the table.

If only the poor ermine knew his guest's game, he mostly likely would have been far more wary, but he remained blissfully unaware of her motives, and wouldn't have suspected otherwise that she was trying to tempt him to open up....and perhaps a little more.
Bumping in to him was really only the first step. A jolt went through his body. Sudden, electric, it passed through his spine, emanating out over his nerves and to his very claw tips. He might have visibly shuddered, but he wasn't sure. He was falling in to her little trap it seemed, but his mind really fought for control. It was silly! Just so silly to get this way after all! He was too old for these sort of games!
But she WAS attractive to him, he knew that, he could admit it, but he wondered just what sort of effect she would have on him over a period of time. WHY did it have to be another ermine renting from him? Why couldn't it be a rat or a canine of some sort? Why his own species? Here in small Thorpe it seemed too unique to be coincidence, but he reminded himself to show her kindness as that's what she needed most right now.
Everything was all set. The piping hot food was laid out, table was all ready to go, and Ladorak couldn't help but marvel at the speed and efficiency of this good looking and attractive female. She was waiting for him to sit it seemed, and though he'd normally offer females to sit first, he went and took his seat, doing as she bid.
Pulling in, he held off on eating until she had seated herself as well.

Jayd knew that she loved playing this 'game' with Ladorak but something really was happening to her inwardly. She felt something seeping from her heart and filling the very veins that flowed through her lithesome body. What was it? Jayd ached to moan with satisfaction but she just couldn't do that when in his presence. She wanted to rub her paws all over her body because even the skin beneath her fur felt so good. Even the organs within her body were aching as the hormones surged and penetrated her very soul. At this point even if she wanted to keep from tempting the male she could not.
Ladorak sat and Jayd smiled down at him as she approached him, placing, for a moment, her paw on the back of his chair as she leaned over to reach for the mashed potatoes. She knew that he would resist being served, which was why she allowed him to take his seat first. He needed and deserved to be waited on by a real femme and Jayd was more then happy to do it for him. Something was missing in Ladorak's life and the female was willing to help him like he was helping her by giving her a place to rent.
Jayd dipped out the potatoes and tapped them onto his plate. She then reached for another delight, the fish. Her eyes glanced at him as she asked if he would like some and really what else he wanted she would give to him. A large amount of emotions radiated from her eyes, even if she was unaware of it as she looked at the male. She'd never met anyone like him before. He... was... different.
The female placed the fish delicately on his plate. "What else would you like? This is the least that I can do given the fact that you have so kindly offered me a place to lay my head. You have given me hope and for this I must thank you. I am not your servant but your friend that wishes to please 'you' now." Jayd had hoped that he would grant her the request to at the very least serve him, then he would taste the most delicious food that he's ever tasted before. Jayd was quite the chef.

He watched with some hint of curiosity as she proceeded to serve him. No...he would have none of that, not in this household. He wouldn't have her act like some servant, even if she insisted she was not. He reached out, wrapping a paw around her serving arm. "Jayd please....you don't have to do this to repay me. That's why I'm asking for rent after all, not services." he said, a smile crossing his face and a slight laugh uttering forth from his mouth.
"I mean I really do appreciate all of this, don't get me wrong, but don't feel as if you have to repay me for allowing you to live here." he still smiled at her, though it was more of a parent smiling at a kit in a type of way. "You've already started though, so yes, fish is fine." he said softly, releasing her arm from the not too firm grip he'd been keeping on it.
He waited patiently while she dished him out some food on to his plate. It was really more a meal fit for a special occasion, and he nearly felt guilty accepting it. On his now meager salary they....or rather he, would have to cut back from here on out. They? Where had that come from? They weren't even living in the same unit technically, and Ladorak wasn't sure why that thought had crossed his mind.
"I suppose I should entertain you for dinner though." he said. "You can ask whatever you like about me, and I'll do my best to level with you." He said, looking back up at her features.

Jayd smiled down at him. But she wanted to serve him. The last thing that she felt was like a servant to him. Instead she felt more like a wife serving her husband. Oh sure she knew that they weren't married but still that feeling was in her heart already. Meeting Ladorak felt like it was meant to be... them meeting and ending up living in the same house.
The female finished piling up his plate with every mouth watering food and then she went to the oven to take the crumble out, the smell of it waving around the room in an instant. After the desert was set out to cool she went back to the table and entertained in her mind what questions she would like to ask of him first. Still though, she didn't wish to be nosy but there was so much that she wanted to know about him.
Jayd filled her plate as her eyes captured his. "Well... Why did you leave your home in The Imperium? Was that the name that you used? Did you say that you were in a relationship? Does that mean that you were married?" The femme thought that it would be best to get the awkward questions out of the way first.
Daintily she began to eat. Where she came from the way of eating was a bit more primitive but she was also educated in the prim and proper way of eating even though she found herself licking her fingertips from time to time and groaning with delight.
